Just dropped the car to mike at CCB to have it dyno tuned and oil and plugs
Plan is to pick it up Saturday morning.park it for the weekend (double points) then go up for the hunter valley cruise next Sunday.
All being well.
Your bug will wistle beautifully.
Mike knows his stuff. Once i sort out issues with my bora the oval will be next
Interested to see if you notice a difference in performance, my plan is too eventually replace my 1600 with a 1916 from CCB
Thats what i did when my 1600 died.
Its the best thing iv done.
His engines are great
CBB didn't build the engine that's in but they are willing to tune it for me.
Can not wait to get it back and see how it goes after a tune.it went well on Sunday but does seem to get a bit more fuel than needed down low.
Got an email back from mike. Need to talk to him tomorrow.
Car is apparently low on power for the capacity.(feeling low myself now).
1 Spark plugged completey fouled. Replaced a base gasket on the carbies.
Hopefully the news is better than what i think.
Engine being stripped down and rebuilt.hope to get the car back in a few weeks.
Hopefully with more ponies than it has now!
Good stuff.
What cc's getting done
2332cc which is what it is ment to be according to guy I bought it from.
Mike did a lot of work to get as much out of the car as possible and could only manage 110 @ the wheels.
Hopefully he will find why it's low and fix it for me.
There are a few other things that will get done at the same time.
Now I am really looking forward to getting the car back as I thought it went well before.
What are the specs on the engine?
110hp at the wheels is quite okay if it is a mild engine.
^^^^ agreed
Mild cam, non-worked heads and low CR will produce those sort of figures
110 ponies at the wheels with a heap of torque is a lot of fun

Okay with wedge ports and FK87 you would expect a bit higher number (maybe 130-140's)
What carbs or injection and exhaust/muffler?
Ask Mike to crack test the AA crank and rods, just in case .

The carbies are 48's
He said he would expect 130 - 140 at the wheels. So hopefully this is where we will get close to.
There are no lash caps and the rod have no adjustment on them, plus a few other things.
Found out that there was not engine mounts in either so having those put in.
Hopefully I don't miss out on many cruises.
The engine is now back together, hope to collect the car next Thursday all being well.
Cool!!
It will be a rocket.
Yep you should be looking around 130. 140 hp, my 2332 fk87. 48 Ida streeter with hand ported heads made 143@wheels.
What changes were made to the engine on the rebuild ?
What compression is the motor?
Good on ya Clarky....& Brian
Also What... cam timing, exhaust?
110 rwhp isn't necessarilly all bad IMO
Keen to hear how the upgrade went.
The old compression was 7.9:1
The aim was to go for around 10:1 this time around
Had to replace a lot of parts inside I'll update later when back on the computer
youll have twice as much as our old 2213 has.
77hp@ wheels

So did I Craig,
Pulling it apart told another story though - unfortunatley you trust some people.
anyway some on the parts that had to be replaced are below
84mm CB Race Crank
Std Main Bearing
Chevy Big End Brgs
Double thurst CAm Bearing
Long Barrels
CB Cam
Adjustable cam gear (I chose not to go with the straight cuts)
CB Light weight lifters
Chromoly head rocker studs
Jaycee adjustable push rod tubes
CB Chromoly.58 push rods
I have also replaced the old exhaust
Sounds like its going to hurt the wallet as well
You want to sell the old engine internals or did mike keep them?
Hi Paul,
It might hurt now but I think it would have hurt more had I been driving the car and something happened.
at least now I know what I have got for sure.
Mike @ CBB has been great, and has made me feel at ease with everything and that i am going to get an engine that suits what I want it for and have
some power there.
Its a shame that I have a family day on Sunday the 3rd otherwise i would have done the Bug & Bus show up the central coast.
I will now have to keep an eye out for the next thing that is on and get out and meet some people and enjoy the car.
Hi Klaus,
I'll find out on Thursday what is happening to the old parts.
I'll keep you posted.
no worries , you still own them and may aswell make a couple of hundred for junk bits
mainly cam crank lifters n barrels and straight cut gears
