couldn't believe it

:grind: proceeding along the road aproaching a set of lights, traffic at a stop in the RH lane turning right so I moved over to the LH lane to get a run through the intersection only to have an oncoming car turn across my path, on with the stops real big time (love the ABS) but to no avail, big sounding bang so pulled up on the other side of the intersection and checked the damage, amazingly only a tiny bit of a crease on the bumper so I went over to the other car, same sort of damage so all is not too bad, told the young bird driving that we need to exchange details, she tells me she's not insured (late model Mercedes compresor, wtf ) then tells me she dosn't have her licence with her so I tell her we have to get the cops, she has a bit of a winge about that and then walks back to her car, I assume to get her details, nope, she's into the car and hot foots it out of there, bloody hell those things can go hard, so now it's in the hands of the cops, trouble is I didn't have time to get her rego number though the cops don't seem to think that's a problem as they can track the car down they say. Not happy.:grind::mad:

Man, thats a bugger. Some people....

Let us know how this turns out - I'd really be surprised if they can/do find the other vehicle

... most police in this area would 'have better things to do' - that was the line I was given when I was involved in an accident that wrote both cars off a couple of years ago.

What were you driving?

R :)

donn - June 17th, 2011 at 10:21 AM

Soob Forester, very little damage to either car that's what makes it wierd, unless she was unlicenced (the Merc had green P plates) or been drinking but if I get it fixed it will still cost me the excess at the very least.

Camo - June 17th, 2011 at 10:38 AM

Bugger,

Unless there is cameras at the intersection, someone else got the number plate or if the cops knows her (previous police contact) the cops have no chance of finding her. Sorry :-(

Also, you didn't have to call the cops. As long as you exchange details, is all that matters. Yes, I know you want to make sure she isn't lying but this way you would have a number plate at a minimum and then the cops can put the formal demand on the registered owner.

I know this doesn't help you now sorry, just letting you and others know what to do.

Good luck with it, Kev.

MISS VDUB - June 17th, 2011 at 02:34 PM

What an absolute mole!!!

The fuzz have a good way to track them down. Won't be long before they find her on the system, and especially if they do a little drive by and find a damaged Merc in her drive way, BINGO!

silver - June 17th, 2011 at 02:47 PM

Was she cute?

donn - June 17th, 2011 at 03:16 PM

Hell no! :td::dork:

shokwave2 - June 18th, 2011 at 09:18 AM

You should have jumped in you car and chased her. If you tailed her close enough you could have gotten her rego number then contacted the cops.

bajachris88 - June 18th, 2011 at 09:26 AM

until she slammed on the brakes and Donn's insurance is up for her new rear end  people in desperation can be willing to do anything.

Sorry to hear Donn, definitely something no one needs, particularly if she wasn't even hot... theres no winning in this at all!

VDUBXTC - June 18th, 2011 at 10:15 AM

Thats the beauty of newcastle. Most intersections have RTA traffic cameras on them now. so hopefully they can pull the footage and get her plate for you.

as You need all the info You can get..

well... driving without Your licence.... ??
maybe Daddy didn't know she was driving the Mercedes compressor.. and uninsured ???

doesn't add up good...

Now a video of all that happened would have been good Don

about a month and half ago I was driving in the left lane on the Calder near Calder park raceway when I heard and felt a big thud in the back of my car.

a stupid mole in a silver something? clipped my car changing from my lane to the next 2 lanes on the right and footed it away into the traffic, being in a VP bommodore
(was the smallest car among the traffic) I couldn't see over all the giant POSs around me and could not get the model neither the plate number.

Pulled up at the servo and found it was just a scratch on top of an existing scratch on the corner of the bumper. :D

no biggy, but still how can you be such a n00b at things like leaving your lane? lol:rolleyes:

Its safe to say no because I find 95% of the women here not attractive. Most repulsive in fact.

Out of the 10,000s of car I have seen since I started work at the beginning of the year traveling all over Melbourne and some times to other cities in other state, I recon I have seen 3 cute women in all the cars I have seen.

I went to Switzerland 1.5 months ago for training, Ohh yeahhh! :tu: women all pretty and friendly :starhit:

vlad, one of the problems with setting a very high standard, is that finding a suitable partner could become almost impossible. Keep trying though..........or just whip over to Switzerland.;)

Fair chance 95% of them dont think you are Brad Pit either! M

vlad01 - June 19th, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Brad who?

Standards? why do people talk about standard? This is a biological thing, if you are not physically attracted to someone then you are not attracted to them, simple.

Yes personality of the person is very important too, if their personality is great but if you get that feeling like they are your sister or something then its just doesn't happen.

scientists are uncovering more and more about how people couple up and find suitable partners. Its got a lot more to do with smell, certain body/face features, voice etc.. that signify genetic compatibility then what most people think.

Interestedly My younger brother and I when we are out and about check out women and strangely but not surprisingly find we both like the same type of women and same type of certain features.

He is also single and hasn't found anyone yet and he is the going out type.

HappyDaze - June 19th, 2011 at 12:28 PM

Well, there you go - there's some hope for you! Although your little brother has a better chance of someone 'getting a whiff of him', seeing that he goes out.

vlad01 - June 19th, 2011 at 12:33 PM

yeah but I get more in my work. so we both get exposed to more or less the same amount of people.

bajachris88 - June 19th, 2011 at 02:31 PM

arranged marriages would make the whole dating scene so much more cheaper and simple....

of course, excluding the thought of ending up in a forced arrange marriage to a bush pig

vlad01 - June 20th, 2011 at 10:35 AM

lol I thought about it once and even tried a few dating services online suggested by friends.

I just got so pissed at the people on them. They all were so smug, sluts, drugos, fat people using pics of their friends.

definitely not for me. :td:

annosL - June 20th, 2011 at 10:41 AM

Ya can't judge all Aussie women by the bad eggs that cause accidents!

vlad01 - June 20th, 2011 at 12:57 PM

yeah I know. the good ones are really hard to find these days, so all those bad egg leave a nasty taste in your mouth.

donn - June 20th, 2011 at 01:28 PM

vlad, I think you are a bit of a pesimist, you know, a bloke who thinks all women are bad, an optimist is a bloke who hopes all women are bad,

vlad01 - June 20th, 2011 at 03:04 PM

I don't think they are all bad, just some are, I know a few really nice ones too.

Just the ratio of good vs bad isn't that good where i live.

esevwbits - June 21st, 2011 at 07:57 AM

Anyway, enough of your live life dramas,.what happened with the merc driver donn?

vlad01 - June 21st, 2011 at 09:50 AM

yeah sorry for all that  I feel better now though.

yeah so did the cops get on to her?

donn - June 21st, 2011 at 09:56 AM

No news yet but as I live reasonably close to the scene I am keeping my eyes open, I'll find her I'm sure as I believe she is a local because she told me she didn't have her licence with her as she just ducked out to pick up her son, and there is a school on the corner where it happened.
