I'd just like to thank everyone who has helped me out of this past nambucca weekend. That goes out to everyone who either helped me spanner, gave
moral support, put shit on me, provided parts, tools.
in particular Grey57 and Skewy for helping out whenever possible. Leigh Harris for spannering on the strip down. Topless for being an excellent
scrounger of bits and bobs. Jeff Unwin (Hellbug) for doing a 80 minute round trip to fetch heads. A whole heap of Queenslanders for hanging around for
entertainment. Peter Leonard. My faithful sidekick Jay who braved it out till 3am in the freezing cold. To the people that provided me with alcohol
even though I spent more time knocking it over than drinking it.
But most of all I would like to thank Kolin aka KruizinKombi who saved my weekend from being a total tragedy. Despite his own personal tragedy, Kol
was there throughout the whole strip and rebuild. He was there till 4am going strong on the reinstall, and would have kept going if I hadnt pulled the
plug. He towed my fastback from Valla Park, into Nambucca Heads, out to Raleigh for racing and back to Valla. Monday he went on a drive into Coffs to
find me some relatively unobtainable seals, and 2 trips back to Raleigh cos I was a dick and left my trailer spare behind. Then he travelled with me
on the way back, sometimes down to about 40km/h while my kombi was on its way to a slow death.
I'd have been totally stuffed without him. He did all this for me, even when I got a bit stressed and shitty. He wouldn't take fuel money,
and wouldnt let me pay for the seals. Thanks Kol, yer a legend.
yeah good work kol, good to see everyone chip in to help a fellow dubber :thumb
i dont know what its like but good karma will always be on your side kol!!!
praise aussieveedubbers!
cheers

It's really good to see that Vdubbers stick together.
the mates that you make from a car club or cruise may be mates fo life.
UP THE AUSSIEVEEDUBBERS!!!!!
This is why I love this forum - people helping each other.
Sounds like Col needs to be put up for Australian of the Year or something.
Andrew
THAT'S IT!.... I nominate Kol for
"DUBBER OF THE YEAR"
I can make a trophy for the winner!
I second that Kol dubber of the year .
Sounds like the went above and beyond the call of duty on that one

I met Col in person for the first time at Valla and what a genuine bloke he is :thumb I think we all know he would have helped Chris out without even
thinking twice about it. Hope we can all take a leaf out fo his book at some time
Yep u got it, Col is a bloddy legend !
no worries chris, u tought me heaps more than i helped you i reckon !
Thanks everyone, but it was nothing that you guys wouldn't have done if the tables had been reversed.
On a similar note, I have some people to thank also....
For those of you who don't already know, I received a call from my father Thursday night, about 60 kms from Nambucca to let me know that my
youngest brother was back in hospital with cancer and probably had 1-2 weeks to live. I decided to get to Nambucca, sleep on it and decide what to do
the next morning. I chose to stay and see him when I got back to Melbourne. Friday afternoon I received a message through the Valla Resort and rang
home to find that my brother had died that morning. Even had I decided to go home, he would have been gone before I finished packing camp. Needless to
say, the news knocked me on my arse...
Graham (11CAB), thanks for your friendship, support and concern, but most of all for 'the talk'. I needed it and it couldn't have come
from anybody better. I doubt I would have survived the weekend without you and Mel keeping me busy and entertained.
Skewy, thanks for looking out for me and feeding me when I fell in a heap. You virtually never left my side and I really appreciate your
companionship. Better mates are hard to find.
Dean (Grey57), thanks for being there and keeping me company for the long drive home. I didn't realise at the time how poorly I was functioning,
and I wouldn't made it without you leading the way. Thanks also for the battery swapping all the way from Sydney, and for going out of your way
to make sure I made it home safe. Oh, and I was wrong, the battery made it to Churchill before I started to lose spark and realised that I was going
to kill myself driving with nonexistant lighting, but Heather came and got me. :thumb
Doug (Toybug), thanks for letting me use your phone, and for your company and understanding.
Dave Birchall, thanks for helping Heather get in contact with me, and for your concern.
Chris Fraser, thanks for the loan of the carbies, the entertainment at the track, the entertainment on my campsite, and your company and
friendship.
Jay, thanks for your company during the wee hours of the morning. It was bloody freezing, but I didn't notice until after you went to bed.
Peter Leonard and Belinda, thanks for the company. It was great to meet you both, let me know if you're ever down my way.
Ree, sorry I was so distracted, but thanks for your understanding. I'll make it up next time we cruise together, I promise. I hope you found your
way home ok.
Clyde (topless), thanks for being the 'gopher' and for the torque wrench. I look forward to catching up again, under better
circumstances.
Boris, thanks for helping me with the distributor rebuild. I did a LOT better on fuel on the trip home.
Wes, for the ride in the Baja. What a blast!! One of the absolute highlights of my weekend.
There are so many others who offerred their moral support, Jen, Lloyd, Mr & Mrs M, vanderaj, and many more. Thank you all.
i'm sure everyone was happy to support you kol after evrything you do for everyone, we definately need more like you, you are one of a kind.

I like everyone else on this forum would like to say a big thank you to everyone here.
We all went hoping to have a top weekend meeting others that share our passion as well.
I think we did this....
We helped, supported, laughed, cried,
aided, partied, drank with, BBQ'd with,
I can go on & on....
But I think we have shown that we are one big happy helpful community here, with now some new friends for life.
Thanks everyone for being there for others (even when we are in need) to help share our big VW weekend.
Thanks to all the hard work in bringing yourself, your car, & your friendship.
We all will do this again ....next one.
Thanks go to the Pells for running the weekend too.
Nice to meet you all at the BBQ
Nice to know I have met some really cool people here.

I agree with all the above comments. This is what I love about the dubbers crew, always willing to help out in a tight spot.
Amazer and Kol, if it wasn't for both of you guys I wouldn't have made it up in the first place. Amazer scrambled up a new voltage regulator
in Woolongong after mine disintergrated on the south side of Albury and Kol swapped and charged the batteries I was running flat every 2 hours to keep
me going.
So I was glad to help you guys out and return the favour.

I only caught up with you guys rite before you packed to leave on monday, I had no idea that all that went on.
Cheers to you Kol your a champ:thumb
I'd like to add in a special "Thanks!" for Tazz to pass along to his wonderful Bro-in-law for taking my daughter and I in his Notch
for the Konvoy into Nambucca on Saturday. With my Belle out of Action I seriously did NOT want to be driving a Ford that morning so...
THANKS!! Seriously appreciate it mate! :thumb
if we are now on the topic of thank you's from valla just a quick one to tazz and skewy for the quick crash course (about 2 minute lesson) on how to dump my car. thanx guys. :thumb
o yeah i will try and post that intrustions pic for ya kid
thanks mate. if you can do it as it's own post as twoguns wants it too
I missed someone out!
After all our hassles on the trip up, we arrived at Valla too late to sort our accomodation. Couldnt find a place to stay at all. As luck would have
it we stumbled across type3kid who let us bunk down in his cabin in spare beds the lounge and floor. I dont know what we would have done otherwise
because we didnt have enough room to sleep in the cars. So thank Aaron and friends for letting us invade for the night.
And now I need to thank Spook for his help so far in sorting and storing the kombi while I try to work out an action plan.
hey chris no probs mate, thanks for the beer
i was just glad you
guys got out of the cold and didn't have to sleep in your cars.
Kol, your da man!!!!!!
Thanks for taking me and the kids on the cruise to nambucca sat morning, it felt real good to be part of it even though Pash wasnt. After getting a
few probs fixed in tamworth shes running like a dream once again and a great kruize home it was. Got home just now (sat night)
Oh and hey I didnt find you distracted at all at Valla, if anything I was with bloody kids locking keys in magna hire cars and chasing starter motors.
It was great camping with ya even though I was a piker but Ill make it up to ya on another kruize, beers, kombis and fun.
Ree
Great to meet everyone
Good to hear you got back home OK Ree.
Thanks,
It was a great trip home, stopped at all those places I had to drive through only on the way up, heaps of gorgeous state forests for a little
tranquility which was needed big time after a good but hectic weekend. I have a few little projects to do before the next valla but Im not missing it
for the world, Ive had a taste now and i live to get Pash to the next one
ree
Ill get on in the chat room tonight, was havng trouble last night
