CSP tail lights and DECENT g'box coupler
Bizarre - October 1st, 2011 at 01:40 PM

OK - a couple of questions befroe I go calling round

I really wouldnt mind a "GOOD" set or elephants foot tail lights
I have some flat ones and they hold their colour remarkably well - but would like to go back to stock shape, or "smooth" flats, not the "square" that I have

If any one knows Jurgo's old car - he had a set of NOS and they were brilliant
I am thinking of CSP - but does anyone know of a shop that has them here ? Preferably in Sydney
Would really like to see them before parting with coin

Second thing - DECENT rear gearbox coupler.
Been having trouble getting second.
Tightened the couple up the other day - all good again.
Started doing it again.
Went to tighten up again and saw little bits of red poly every where

No idea what brand it was.
Lasted about 5 years of daily driving - so I am sort of bitchin. But is there a REALLY reliable brand out there??
Or just try and find NOS?
I do have original cradles. It was just red poly inserts

Thx

Barry try Tooleys,I bought some inserts from them over the years and had no trouble and I think some of my customers would be hard users.

the red couplers are too stiff...
rubber is better... more flexible..
same as engine mounts..

getting a brand name is hard these days...
heaps of Brasilan/mexican or Chinese parts about..

a couple with the VW part number on it is best..
maybe OEM or VW brasil..

Lot of crappy lenses about..
if they don't fade they crack or are just poorly made..

Barry, Look on ebay Germany. Even used lenses are in good condition from there. They don't have any UV problems. I have a set of original German ones on my 68 beetle here in Ireland, and they are like NOS.

If they don't ship to Aus, let me know and I'll forward them on from here if its cost effective for you!

Cheers

Steve
