If that's with bigpond than that's a pretty good deal.

Is that ADSL or ADSL 2?

look here mate

be aware that you really need to look at the speed, download limit, if there are charges for over limit or just restricted to dial up speeds and if there are fees for changing over to them.
personally i like internode

i am with internode. fantastic!!!!

anything to do with telstra is pure monopolizing evil. stay away from bigpond, tpg are also jerks and hopeless service, dodo is also bad and rip you off.

iinet is suppose to be pretty good too.

Well my 2 bob's worth. Ever since the onetel days I've stuck with Telstra and Bigpond and no regrets. Sure you get frustrated at times with the prompts and the systems in place but.....I'm overall happy.

I've been running a 3G wireless internet for a few years now. Yesterday I went into a telstra shop in Shepparton because my internet was beginning to drop out a lot especially in my rural tablelands of Strathbogie. So the wizz kid suggested I update to 4G. Cost $299 but in 60 days I get that back plus $110 (God knows why- its the deal at the time). Plus of course that $49.95 a month. 4MB I think download- more than enough for me. If I had a land line it would be $29 a month. Anyway the 4G network is much much faster and doesnt drop out- at all.

The other smaller private companies do offer cheaper rates for more and this will always force Telstra to drop their prices eventually. The frustration I mentioned....got home and rang Bigpond for new connection etc and was told I can get internet straight away bUT no email for 2 working days. they didnt tell me this at the shop and I run a business....that pisses me off. but I'll stick with them.

ADSL as far as I can see...

no mention of ADSL 2 ... maybe because I'm regional.. country..

OPTUS wasn't recommended ...

after all the charges they advertise....

they add GST to your Bill...

they ADD $35 if Your bill isn't paid by the due date...

some people complained about the bill arriving 1 day before it was due..??

I'll checkout iinet and engin

Internode provided me with ADSL2+ in country area where only other choice was telstra for that type of connection. I am getting 10.5Mbit connection which is pretty good, 69 buks a month for 60Gb which is the Easy Reach plan, no contracts uploads are counted though by only account for like less than 10% of the total usage anyway.

Works out very cheap shared out between 4 people and 2 houses :tu::yes:

I am on TPG with $ 29.95 for 50gig download. but I didnt really use their support.
Because it was routed to india. If you can setup your own . Then may be the download limit is ok.

vlad01 - October 26th, 2011 at 07:53 AM

their unreliable service( drop out, packet loss, lag, slow download speed) and then the Indians was the last straw !

I ditched tpg and went internode and never looked back. All my connection problems went away on internode. :tu:
