Pilgrimage to VW Land
Old Dubber - August 13th, 2003 at 08:29 PM

I’ll be off air for a while as I am off overseas for six weeks. Will be aloud as part of my trip to spend two days at Wolfsberg to visit the VW and Autostradt museum.

Any other suggestions?

(How many VW's can you fit in a suitcase?)

make sure you have heaps of time to look around the museum as it is awsome. Not often you get to see a lambourgini bolted to the side of a building. Heaps of cool things to play with in the science section as well:D. mmmm real beer as well.

Hey old, u going to be here for action day?

whatnow - August 14th, 2003 at 02:28 PM

you'll love it there. don't forget to take your chassis no's etc as the vw museum (not the autostadt) is where they do the vw birth certificates. unfortunately they don't do them on the spot though.
if you see a guy in a dark red oval cal-looker on fuchs (tidy tidy car. was in volksworld) say hi from henry (we got talking over the net and he drove me around wolfsberg and to vw euro when i was there, really nice guy).

Thanks everyone.

Am really looking forward to the visit.

No Drew, will not be here for Action Day. Have given the '63 tunnel section to Col to put on display for me.
Have a good one

Hi All
Am in Ireland at this moment - had a lot of trouble with the keyboards in Europe (not qwerty) and man do you pay for connection!!!!
Had a wonderful time at the Autostradt museum, did the VW factory tour, but was a little short due to the release of the new Golf the next day Who should be on the "English tour" but "Eric" from the "Gold Coast Club" - small world. It is a huge place - a mini city. You wish you could get out and ask a million questions.
Went across to the VW museum, which was also fantastic and run into "Ryan" from Sydney - what is it with all these aussies, must be something here worth seeing. Ryan was after a part for his Dads golf and seeing I had a hire car (Audi A4 - went like the clappers), we toured the VW spare parts places in Wolfsburg. Found a great place that specialises in "Classic parts" for VW & Audi. There was a mint '54 oval in a side room (not for sale) belong to one of the guys in the shop.
No need to tell you I am having a great time and hope to tell some more details and get some pics up when I return.
