Crazy buggers
Liebherr demo
haha awesome!
dam that would hurt if he slipped. Wonder how many people they lost practicing that?
Mad bastards !
new way of doing donuts in a car park !!!!!
high density parking, perhaps?
Good effort though
Madness but carefully calculated German madness
It's a very impressive stunt. But also incredibly dangerous.
The hydraulics on a digger like that are designed to work in the opposite direction at what they are being used to climb the tower. They are made to
have maximum power while retracting, so while digging they have the most force when pulling the bucket through the ground towards the machine. During
climbing the tower they are working in the opposite direction. I'd hate the think of the stress the systems were under lifting the machine like that,
given it would weigh many times what the hydraulic are rated to lift. If something had have blown it would have come down very quickly. And I can't
believe that idiot TV presenter was standing directly under it while climbing!!
This is probably just me overthinking everything. These people are German! So it was probably modified to perform the stunt. Very impressive feat. I
like the other machines parked around it on the little ramps holding the tower down.
Smiley
yeah, you can bet ya nuts that there was a fair bit of "redesign" done to the machine, after all a publicity stunt like that wouldn't want to go wrong.
There's nothing standard looking on that machine, it's custom built for the job. Hydraulics will have no issues with a load like that and plenty
more. There's also a fair amount of fail safe built into the system if something lets go.
That being said it's a seriously impressive stunt, and a credit to them and their design/manufacture team. That operator has much bigger balls than I
will ever have too!!
This is probably just me overthinking everything.
Your not the only one over thinking.looks like they thought long and hard about it too!!!!! The Jib on that machine is about 3 time the thickness of a
standard one. With duel hydrolic cylinders and the huge one in the middle there was no way it would fail. Would have been fun but!!!!!!
