Billet bug takes out best of show V8 Supercars Sydney

Congratulations to Peter and Dawn who took out best car of show today. Out of all the cars including many holdens and commodores, Gt Fords, Toranas as well as many exotic cars the billet bug won best of show.

I saw Peter on Saturday and he was telling me on Friday all the V8 supercar drivers came through to look at all the cars on display. the only car the stopped to admire was the billett bug.

An excellent result

Why wouldnt it? Its a bloody masterpeice and a work of art all at the same time. This car should be declared on the heriage list.

Great to see that the old die hard Aussie car admirers, saw the charm and beauty of one of our little favorites.

Thats great,there was some very nice cars in that show.
Some with endless budgets.There was a Queen Street BMW that had 1 million spent on it.
I was there on Saturday.I thought it was the best car,but I am biased.

well done peter and dawn it's good to see the little guy doing so well has came a long way so has the builder,when you first turned up at a vw drive i never thought it would be toppling all before it

Well done Peter! It is a well deserved accolade. The car is amazing and great to see a full blown VW show car, the display looks first class. It would take a great deal of time and dedication to build and then maintain a car to this standard. It is a credit to you.

I would like to thankyou for all your kind words and to Paul for the post. this win was unexpected I had a short list for contenders for over all honors and the Bug wasnt one of them,but we are always critical of our own cars.
It was stated at the presitation that I achived 98 points out of 100 in engine bay,undercarrige,paint,interior and presentation(display) .
I dedicated the win to my wife who is not well and unable to join me over the weekend as she had her last Chemo the Thusday before,once again thankyou.

well done pete i hope dawn is doing ok, in your pics the bug stands out just like at all the shows and cruises its been at again well done its almost as well know as herbie
