Hi all,
Does anyone know of or built a rotisserie that bolts up to the floorpan rather than the bumper mounts as i dont have any.
There are some on evilbay but they only have short arms for chassis rails.
Any help it would be great,
Thanks
Heath
It wouldn't be too hard to make a couple of brackets to bolt onto the front end mounting and the transmission forks.
I'm assuming that the body will be on the pan.....
don't know if a rotisserie could be modded enough to work in this situation,
if it was me, I'd be looking at 2 engine stands. It should fit under the body work, especially where the front beam would be.
If it doesn't fit under there you might need to use some angle iron as brackets that bolt to the pan head and the engine stand plate.
If you do this, make sure you do the same on the rear engine stand, as you want them to have the same radius when you start to turn the car over.
you won't get 360' of rotation, but it will be able to rotate enough through to around 90'
if you do use engine stands, then you may need to widen the footprint of the stand, as the centre of gravity (once you start to rotate the body) may
be outside of the engine stands footprint.
For this, just get some 75*75 RHS about 2M in length and bolt it to the
engine stand with wheels on either end.
have attached a rough pic for you.
Cheers
D

Heath,
I have one that bolts to the bumper mounts, but it could easily be fitted with a pair of rails to pass under the car. It has been designed to be
modified, taking into account late/early bodies. I'm in Happy Valley and you are welcome to come over and have a look at what I have.
Dave
Hi all, thanks for the replies. I might have not explained my self well. I don't have the pan on the car, and I don't have bumper mounts. I was
thinking of using the body to Pan bolt holes.
Dave I would love to come and check it out. Pm me your mobile so we can arrange a time.
Thanks for all the replies and drawings.
Heath, I know what you mean. PM sent. cheers Dave
