amazer - August 17th, 2003 at 01:48 PM

my excuse is that I was on the road. Went up to Newcastle to unload my kombi. It was an easier trip in the lancer. Kept glancing down at the speedo to see I was way over. 135 at one time. Why cant VW 1500's fly like mitsubishi 1500's?

Didnt have trouble finding spooks place. Had trouble finding my way home though. Somehow ended up on the old highway instead of the freeway. Left my uni parking permit behind :( one of my main reasons for going. When I got to within 10 minutes from home there was a multicar fatal accident in front of me. Had to go back from where I'd came and go the long way around the lake. Took me 1 hour.

At least I have some tools to put together a roughy engine for the kombi now.

Was doing 10kays over the speed limit and and a cop car merged into the lane beside me. Didnt get pulled over. *phew* then a volvo went passed at what must have been 20kms over. Didnt get pulled over either. But then there was an old POS commodore in front that had no number plate on... he got pulled over. Why wouldnt you at least put a dodgy plate on your car if you were going for a trip on the freeway??? nothing like attracting unwanted attention.

KruizinKombi - August 17th, 2003 at 02:58 PM

I'm here too, just flat-out with life in general. I've managed to replace the dead alternator on the kombi, align the fan somewhat better than it was, clean the carbies, repair my collapsed accelerator pedal, take the Scouts to the snow, and generally done whatever was necessary to get through the post-Valla recovery. :D

I've got internet access at work, and I can use it whenever I want, but I just haven't had time lately. I think I need a holiday.

KruizinKombi - August 17th, 2003 at 03:00 PM

Oh yeah, guess who I saw while I was at the snow with the Scouts..... :D

Spook - August 17th, 2003 at 06:07 PM

You had no trouble cause I give good directions, you must have asked Melanie how to get back......BAD MOVE!!
You should have gone back the way you came, but it's done now.

I saw the sticker still there & actually said to Mel that mustn't have been the one you meant....:D
It'll be in the mail tomorrow.

As to the question of the number plate, there is an extra charge of "calculating to deceive" for having the plates on an unregistered car, & the fine is more than the unregistered & uninsured combined.

amazer - August 17th, 2003 at 08:48 PM

yeah good directions. But you know that T where you have to turn left on the way there? I think that is where I went wrong. And there were signs saying Sydney was this-a-way but I didnt realise that it was the scenic route. Next time I'll know.

Thanks for the sticker. Its costing me $4.40 per day without it. Let me know what brand of ale you drink, whatever Mel drinks, and I will return bearing gifts.

I used to drive the fastback with dodgy plate, before I bought the trailer. If you're being a responsible road user not attracting attention you will be right I reckon. The nag-nag factor made me get a trailer. Mind you the heart always stopped when I saw a cop car. Besides if it breaks during a race day I would have no way to get home. Hmmm a lot like having the tow car break.

The_Bronze. - August 17th, 2003 at 09:22 PM

Didn't know I needed an excuse. I've been caching and the weeks have been just madness. Have been teaching History at school and I spend almost every spare minute studying and preparing in advance.

I don't know if anyone noticed but since Valla I haven't been around much. The Dog-O-War is in the shop and we miss each other sooooo much.

:kissHave found heaps of mud for when we get back together. :kiss

Should all be done by next weekend, now I just need to schedule time to pick him up.

jenz58 - August 17th, 2003 at 09:29 PM

Bronze, worms and the Dog-a-War out of action all in the one week:jesus

Have noticed your absence glad you're at least back up online again.

Hope that the sun does not shine too brightly on you this week to dry up the mud;):thumb

The_Bronze. - August 18th, 2003 at 04:54 PM

Yeah it must be my Valla luck still coming through I think. On the flip side I won a throphy for finding a cache and the Forester is hard at work, kids are well and the wife is smiling.

Work is going well but for some reason extremely busy. Preparing for the School Certificate and doing tonnes of marking.

Good to be back but just been popping in from work now and then when I supposed to be off somewhere else.

jenz58 - August 18th, 2003 at 08:14 PM

A busy time for senior teachers, especially if they have other interests:sandrine

Take care and enjoy:)
