suitable to be converted back to a road going car?
ideas??
steff.........
Short answer? No
there was a dude on here quite a while ago selling a circuit car project, i believe this was the motor to go in that car. you'd have to dig back throught the for sale section to find it. he might be of help to you? It doesnt seem all that streetable though.

found it!
Having seen this car and engine in person I can say the car was clean and rust free with most body work done ready for paint. Owner has a large paint company and this is not his first bug. He is keen to sell. Let me know if can be of any more help.
thanks for the replys, all i was wondering was if it would be suitable to set up for daily street or has it been pushed to far and would cost to much
to make useable on a daily basis...
both the car and engine look like a great bargain
steff...
I don't know much about dry sump. But apart from that there should not be too much of an issue I think the dash has been welded smooth from memory. Looks like a clean honest car
Sorry... are we talkin about just the engine, or the whole combo ???
ANYTHING is possible... it's all just Time, Effort and Money after all. Dry Sump would be fine for a street car (bit of work in the plumbing dept of
course), but not methanol and probably not the mechanical injection either. Getting the car through engineering and rego... hmm... dunno... that could
be a massive can of worms.
Honestly for the $$$ on that engine you could make sizable dent in the cost of a purpose-built hot street motor.... that's be my 2c.
btw - 270hp from 2.7 liter is a lot of power... more than in at lot of VW drag cars... I reckon on the street you'd more likely have skid marks
rather than a grin !!!

Dry sump is probably more suitable for the methanol engine. My Sports Sedan suffered from high engine temps., which I put down to lack of oil 'sloshing around' in the crankcase. You also need a big oil tank [around 5 litres of oil, plus de-aerating] mounted somewhere. The good side is, alot of weight [oil plus extra sump] is removed from the rear of the car......although the Autocraft dry-sump pump isn't light!
thanks for the input, it was just an idea... i didnt think it would be best suited to a daily street and i know 270 is much more than i was planing!!!
i would have ditched the injections system for carbs .... no matter i'll carry on with my plan for a new engine...
once again cheers
