Hi & welcome Rookie,
Hope to hear more from you soon
Hope you get that job your chasing &
come over here.
Plenty of fellow V dubbers to welcome you here.

Judy (o\|/o)
Hello rookie, and dont feel glum chum i have a feelin everything will be going your way soon.
What!! is there still somebody in England ?I thought you were all here or is that Kiwi's.....
Welcome to the forum Rookie. Keep us informed about your progress towards beautiful Melbourne. When you get here you will have to come on one of the VW Cruises and then you will be totally hooked. If you bring your Porsche to the cruise that will be a great conversation starter. We don't see many of them around down here. and as for the weather it is PERFECT. Just like Queensland without the giant cockroaches, mosquitoes, cane toads, breath sapping humidity or Pauline Hanson.
Whats the saying ...The only good thing about NSW is that it seperates Qld from VICTORIA. Even Tassy broke off and is trying to get away. And then we have AFL try explaining that to a pom.....:P
I was going to offer to take him to a game of AUSTRALIAN football but I thiught that might upset some of the sensitive types from the north.
By the way I suppose everyone knows why they put XXXX on the beer up there?
1. Cause QLDers can't spell beer.
2. Cause it is Illegal write SHIT on cans in public view.
hehe...love the qld jokes.
hey i'm moving to eng next year...i'd be happy to take that porsche off ur hands....i'll keep it warm for you
Enjoy your time here on the forum with us and hope you do make it down to our end of the world:thumb
Melbourne is a great city, just not as warm as you might expect from the land of the sun bronzed life saver
As mentioned you would feel at home with Melbournes climate. Well maybe we are a tad warmer
Monday was wonderful:cussing LOL
Who invented it???:jesus
WWWAAAAAHHHOOOO!!!!!
well, hi guys!! jeez, loads of replies!!
Thanks for all of your lovely comments.
Yes, I do really want the job in Melbourne. I went there as part of my east-coast travelling trip back in 1996 and loved it. Ha Ha, I bet
you're thinking "what, another pommie coming over!"
well i gusee that's true, but the reason so many do is because your country is so interesting and attractive. I only spent 3 months there, but it
was more than enough to show me what a diverse, cultural place it is.
my favourite was byron bay, i found that so magical as a place. I stayed in a hostel called the arts factory, and i had such a blast!
do you realy not have many 914's there? is that because it is tricky to get left hookers over there? dont you have to drive around with a massive
sign in your back window or something?
well, ill keep you postd on the job. ive applied for it, but its going to be a tricky one so a bit of a long shot.
but even if i dont get it, the friendliness im getting from you guys would be enough to get me over there anyway..!!! (any barjobs going, folks?!)
im sitting here on my first day as an unemployed person wondering what the hell to do next.... very stange feeling, this redundancy. ah well best go
and make loads of phone calls.
bye for now.
cheers,
luke.
ps, XXXX isn't that bad, its better than some of the german rubbish we get here....
Welcome Luke.. Looks like You will be at home in Australia.. We All Love it... Ha Ha... 914s are Very Rare over here... although I have seen one or
two... at VW Shows... I'n not sure on the LHD Laws as they vary from state to state. South Australia has always allowed LHD cars . Its also a
nice State...

I think the deal with Lh drive cars in QLD the sunshine state any way is anything 30 yrs and over can stay Lh drive otherwise must be changed....:thumb
hi Rookie
Hope you get the job and come to the worlds best counrty
:bounce
Welcome Luke
Moving to OZ! top move, even if you don't get the Job come on over anyway! hope your bringing the porsche.
What sort of work do you do maybe we could find you a job!
Rob......
Hi Guys,
Thanks again, I'm going for a job at Holden in Melbourne as a designer, but as it's such a specialist field, they have to take a lot of
applications from Australian residents before they will look at me, as I would totally understand.
So I just have to sit tight and see what hapens. And BOY is it taking a long time...
YEs, I woud LOVE to just come over anyway, but I'm totally skint right now, and my finances would sadly not allow it.
Even if I could just get a job in a bar or something, doing that for a few months would be a real blast while I'm looking for a career job.
And now I REALLY want to bring the 914 over, if they're not that common then it would be good fun to stand out from a crowd..!!!
I'll keep you posted.
night night.
and I like the sound of the Byron Bay VW club.... 2 passions rolled in to one..!!!! YAY!
:sandrine
Hi from Byron,
You are most welcome here in Byron Bay
Plenty of sun, surf, girls, a beach hotel,
& plenty of VW's....what more do you want.
Yes the Arts Factory is a blast.
I live about 10mins from there.
When you come over & visit Byron again, let us know...
we will call all the VW troops & all have a drink at the Beach Hotel together.
Judy
DOH! I didn't realize your car was LHD. The law here in Vic is if it is 30yrs old or over you can drive and rgister it. I don't think the sign on the arse end has to be too big (if at all) My brother in law has a 67 Mustang LHD and I will check what he has done with the sign. I know one thing for sure his 8 year old daughter loves going through the drive through restaurants and doing all the ordering and paying. She thinks it is the coolest!
Hope you get down here
to Melbourne happily.
good luck with the job
(plenty of bar work if
worst comes to worst)
have fun!
mistress

G'Day Rookie, what part of England are you in?
hello mate, I'm from a small town called Leamington Spa. It's near Stratord, which you may have heard of, in the Shakespearian sense....
do you know England?
I'm kinda bored of it all over here, that's why I want to break free and try somewhwere else.
hey mate, welcome aboard. i'd swear we aren't crazy but you won't believe me
have fun, you'll probly be insane too befor you know it :P
