Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of flying to Sydney with the wife & kids for a long weekend and taking in the Nationals show & shine on the
Sunday. We will probably stay in the city or Darling Harbour and do the tourist bit on Sat so can any locals tell me the best way to get to the
Faifield showgrounds? I'm thinking train to Fairfield station then what. Bus?, cab? What will be the simple way with family in tow?
Thanks
Clayton
Hi
You can use this trip planer to find the best solution. http://www.131500.com.au/

Here is a handy link to the City Rail transport system:
http://www.cityrail.info/timetables/#landingPoint
You punch in Central station as your starting point(or wherever else you are departing from) and Prairiewood as your destination suburb (the
showground is not exactly in Fairfield). You'll get a route planned that involves a train trip to Fairfield and a bus (804) to a location near the
showground, then it is about a Km walk to the site. Check Google maps for an overview of your destination.

Thanks guys. Thats a big help.
Get a taxi there from Faifield and someone will give you lift back in the afternoon.
Bit of a mini hijack, so if you where to go one day out of the two which one is better, say less crowds, more action on one day over the other etc?
Thank you.....
The show is only one day. (Sunday)

I did this trip last year. Flew from Adelaide, stayed in Darling Harbour. Took the train to Fairfield Station, 804 bus to Prairiewood and walked to the show.It was easy and public transport was only $2 all day on a sunday. Admittedly the trip back was little awkward after hitting the swap meet.It was a great weekend and well worth the effort.
Thanks guys, Train to Fairfield then bus or cab to Prairewood. Cool. Look forward to meeting some members at the show.

Who's Geoff Paradise?........ Now there is a good Question for the next Triver Night
Quote: |
He also started the Express Publications series of VW magazines in the late 1990s - the ones that had a different name each time. "Super VWs",
"Street VWs", "Hottest VWs", "Best VWs", etc etc. They were colourful and glossy, but had numerous technical and historical mistakes in them
(Geoff is a keen V8 man and didn't know much about VWs). The series lasted about 23 issues before closing. Geoff also produced one issue of
'VW-Porsche Power' but it folded after one issue.
Both Phill Lander (AA003 above) and I wrote to him on a few occasions, pointing out the mistakes.
No I am not Geoff Paradise; it's just Phill Lander taking the piss.
He also got the sack for punching his boss.
What date are the Nationals?Or (knowing my luck) have I missed them...
26 and 27 May 2012
No you havent missed them
Bit confused two dates? Above I was told one day only but the
above repy says two days, so is it super sprint at Golburn 26/5/12 then show and shine 27/5/12 at Fairfield show grounds. There is no show and shine
on the 26th correct?
Correct
