You would curl up in the fetal position and cry if you knew how much of this still goes on.
On a similar topic, I found out a few weeks ago talking to a freind that one of the local VW mechanics was winding his buisness down now after 25
years due to bad health a few while back.
He had 2 shipping containers full of parts out the back of the workshop that he said to my mate take what you want cos it's all going for scrap next
week
He didn't have VWs anymore so it all went to scrap.

Well yea more of an aquaintance, someone I only see once a twice a year.
Anyway it's not as if I don't already have too much VW crap laying around.
You can never have enough VW "crap" lying around ...someone's treasure is in there!
believe me you can have too much crap. yes someones treasure is in there but could they bloody wellhurry up and give me the $ and make it go away.
that being said i think i'm getting more soon... i just can't see it get chucked out.

errrr maaaaaayyyybeeee. got any vintage speed stuff???
Shoulda asked me last week, I just chucked 3 Judsons and a pair of Okrasa heads in the bin.
not interested in that crap anyway. it's denzel no nothing for me.

that blokes a c#*t.
btw you weren't complaining about how hard i was rubbing at the time
remember that smashed up 70's wheel, well the boss and rear plastic but were modified and fitted to this...
cut and pasted from another forum...
a beat up old formula wheel. ex leyland square front mini GT? the splined bit was modified from a dead 70's aftermarket wheel.
not bad but still missing something.
ideas worked out and sketched up. time to get started. my bow compass dissappeared in a house move years ago so i had to work out how to get a perfect
circle some other way. i spent a good hour wandering around the house with a ruler trying to find something the right dia before i thought of this
solution.
the end of night one all the major bits cut out, i was enjoying it so much i didn't realize it was about 5am by this stage (on a week night). the
next day wasn't pretty, i can't get away with that sort of thing anymore.
going together
the first layer on the outside and the inner layer cut and drilled ready to go in. the holes are so when the car gets hot the expanding air inside
doesn't crack all the joints.
skip ahead a bit. not my best work + you can see some of the uglyness left from removing the f'd up paint. thankfully you won't see most of the ugly
bits or any of the bad marks with the horn button on.
the bit you see came up quite well. when it comes down to it the wheel is rather ratty anyway.
and the big reveal.
now i just need to extend a column and shaft so i can reach it when it is in the car.
Very nice work there H bags !!!
