Where can I buy coloured celluloid film to repair the warning lights in my speedometer? green for the indicators is the most urgent non left in either
of the units I have.
Thanks Rob
the original stuff wouldn't be available these days ??
but look at kids books etc for some colored see thru stuff that You can Use.... I put an extra light into a speedo for My ATF temp sender in My semi
auto in a KMH speedo..
but later found one from the factory... [KMH with ATF - FOG
electric rear window - etc]
I don't know why it falls off and even seems to be burnt in some speedos.. maybe the hot aussie sun..
but You could find something for kids quite cheap... some of the toys have different colored stuff...
attached to either plastic or even cardboard ...
start at the cheap shops...
cheers

They must have changed the material cos they never seem to deteriorate in 70s bugs.
Even old wrecks that have sat in the sun for years like my convertable which sat in the yard for years with no roof on they stay perfect and don't
fade and fall apart like the 60s ones.
If you look in the stationary section of places like officeworks you can sometimes find binder folders and such in different colours that have tough
opaque plastic that has the same texture as the warning light gels.
I've done that in mine in the blank housings for some extra warning lights.
Overhead Projector film from an office supply shop is good...or.. filing dividers from K-Mart etc...

When you buy some VDO Tachos, they come with coloured condoms to fit over the internal lamps. They supply x2 Red and x2 Green - I know that I
wouldn't have thrown the box out (about 10 years ago) but the shed clutter keeps them safe. I'm sure someone here must have some??
