well the lady and i spent a little time in noumea... not really a place i would recommend to friends. but anyway while there we kept an eye out for
vw's. we only noticed one rusty 71 panel, and a patched 70 beetle.
that was until we hired a car and went on our own safari. that little pug 206 got a work out on the country dirt roads.
as we rounded this bend the lady pointed out a great project for those that are REALLY into saving the 'bent screens'.
after seeing these poor bays sittin there we came to the realisation that hoping to come across a split just wasnt going to happen. after all if this is the condition of a late 70's i dont think there would be much trace of an early 60's
but of course the sun that sets over the sea is always worth a time out...
last pic...
i think there's a little too much metal in that busses rust panels!
Typical islands, I've seen so many cars rusting by the road that could still be going with TLC
Salt air can't help any I guess
Love the Pacific islands despite:kiss
So why not recommend? Interested. Love travel. Well, know Noumea is expensive and never been there so...
Great pics twoguns. was there any good surf around the island??
Skip Noumea. It stinks. The French Colonials are pigs. Go to Vanuatu, th epeople and islands better, cheaper and much better fun.
we scammed a week of accomadation in noumea. and so used some frequent flyer points and went for a visit.
it is a place where they are trying to crack the big time holiday makers but havent got to the standard yet.
so there is a lack of organisation and places . every thing is expensive. the people are nice and friendly and we had fun but am glad i didnt pay for
it directly. it is nothing like the impression from the ads.
but we were ahppy and had fun. thats what counts.
