what year is this?
This is a trick question too!
You won't believe the answer.
I dunno, maybe a 1970 South African model or something?
I know South africa made them long after everyone else stopped.
My guess is 1976
Was I close?
The vehicle looks familiar. I think it's from a website of the chronicles of a trans Africa trip. I'm guessing it's a bit older-mid-60's???
1975
I know........
Good little read too ay dave !!!
Yes great trip!
From VW Trends Mag,
The Bus: Our Bus is a 1975 Volkswagen Fleetline Kombi. These were probably the last Split-Screen Buses built anywhere in the world. They were
assembled in South Africa for one year only, from knocked down kits imported from Brazil. The Fleetlines were sold alongside the German-built 1975
Bay-Window Buses by VWSA dealers. Only 789 of these unique Buses were built in three versions: panelvans, wide-bodied pick-ups, and 15-window Kombis
like our ZebraBus.
A great adventure in a great bus:beer
I want one!
