Bad service
turboboy - May 16th, 2012 at 05:26 PM

Howdy
Tell us about your bad experience when ordering VW parts.
I have had the pleasure of dealing with an Australian company who I have ordered parts a year ago and they still cant get it together just to get some wheel washers.
Hundreds of email ignored and countless phone calls
The other experience with the same shop prior to this took over 18 months to get an order , and that took stuff been sent back to forth to the eastern states from WA a couple of times and they still got it wrong.

turboboy - May 16th, 2012 at 05:40 PM

Yeh it was a cross over thing between the two and it was said things wouldnt be like that again

LUFTMEISTER - May 16th, 2012 at 06:58 PM

I had a problem, but it was fixed by a professional business that cared about its customers. If this business does not fix its mistakes then it is doomed to failure. It is easy to get a bad reputation in a small community like the VW community. Hope it works out for you. Cheers

Depends how much cheaper the their parts are compared to the competition.... I know i have vowed never to order from a certain place again but i'm sure i will due to the price they can offer on most parts. Do i dare say we probably all know who the supplier is...

turboboy - May 16th, 2012 at 07:34 PM

I could have got it from the US but I though I would support local business

bugmaniaar - May 16th, 2012 at 08:14 PM

If i could guess the tattslotto numbers like i can guess who you are talking about i wouldn't be driving a 63 bug.
And yes there prices are good,so i continue to order from them if i'm not in a hurry to get them..:spin:

smithy68 - May 16th, 2012 at 08:21 PM

I think everyone has had bad experiences with the business we are talking about, and because of that I now just order from the states, it usually works out the same with postage anyway.
I know I am not supporting local, but what choice do you have when the service is as bad?
Have Vintage VW ever thought of going online?

h - May 16th, 2012 at 08:41 PM

bad service is almost everywhere
really.. are u that surprised?
this has been done n done n done.. yawn

1916baja - May 16th, 2012 at 08:45 PM

I think http://www.rodpenroseracing.com.au  is going to be good, I have ordered parts over the phone from rod before and recieved them literally the next day! he also sells good gear and knows what he is talking about. And i know he genuinly gives a shit about his customers. Hell, i've only met him in person 2 or 3 times over the years and he remembers my name every time and always asks how my car is going and what ive been doing with it... and is actually interested.

ancientbugger - May 17th, 2012 at 09:59 AM

If you have bad service then just don't use them again no matter what their prices, it's no good being cheap if you don't receive the parts on time. I use Just Kampers and have now for some time and have had no problems whatsoever so as long as I get the same sort of service I will continue to use them.

TorxKiwi - May 17th, 2012 at 12:51 PM

I think even a basic list of what they stock and for what would be helpful to have on their website.

turboboy - June 14th, 2012 at 07:15 PM

I never ring for parts..

I always email or look at websites...

"On Line" doesn't mean a telephone these days...

I have bought from Vintage over the years so maybe they do have a computer for emails??

I call Vintage. Right parts every time and better service than you can imagine

ancientbugger - June 15th, 2012 at 09:03 AM

Well I rang Mick Motors on Wednesday and the parts arrived Thursday, you can't get better than that other than going into the shop! So it's Micks if I need it urgently, Just Kampers if I want to wait all of two days and CIP if I just want the bits and don't mind waiting a week:)

matberry - June 15th, 2012 at 11:13 AM

You can buy crap quality nearly anywhere. I call Vintage if I don't have it in stock myself.
