No doubt about it when it comes to keen dubbers you have to hand it to the northern Tassie contingent. This afternoon almost 30 members and family attended the AGM run from Devonport to Burnie via Penguin in 12 VWs ranging from beetles to a Series 4 Golf in driving rain on slippery roads. The new president is Kevin Eastley. Enclosed pic has the golf hidden from view and one member lost(still at the market).volma
Hi Volma
the weather always seems to chuck a wobbly when you have something good planned, I have heard you guys have been getting hammered down there!
I went to a swap meet at lismore today to meet up with Marcel, I got to a place called Bex Hill and nearly got blown off the road in the Kombi, the
rain was horrendous!
I hope you had a good day, and I hope you get better weather for the Shannons meet!
Rob.......
:beer cheers :beer the things we do forn the love of a VW...
rob i thought about going to lismore, but the rain and wind persuaded me to stay in bed, had a surf later though, really crap...should have gone to
lismore
Too Bad man
Not a real lot of stuff but I got a few things that made it worthwhile!
Going on the 31st?
Rob.......
:thumb will be there for sure...I think I will bring the ute, looking forward to it, good company, great food, a few :beer and plenty of great VW's, you guys making the trip down for the club meeting this friday?
Don't think I will be able to make the meeting on friday! Paul and Jane can't make it either, but we are both going on the week end. heard
about your Kombi ute score! good one!
See you then.
Rob......
The tassie crew have set the example, rain, hail or shine:thumb
The Golf was sheltering behind the Kombi's from the wind
Just got home @6pm.I see volmer1 has beat me with pics. What a rugged day it was.I have a few as well.
Gary.

Gee lokks like I missed a nice day out!
Maybe painting the bedroom wasn't so bad afterall!!
Who am I kidding?
I'd rather be there any day.
Saw my 59 in fresh paint for the first time yesterday. Supposed to be Capri blue but they cuoldn't find that so we had to guess. Looks more like
flouro blue!!
Now have to go back to paint shop to compare colour to chart to find out what happened then redo. Thinking Gulf blue, it's a 60 on colour but it
is closer to capri blue than I am now
Bad luck on the paint Jeremy.Hope you get it sorted so your ready for the cavelcade. Our club is getting all the bad wheather out of the way for you so
it will be fine in November.
Gary.
Sounds like you guys had the same sort of weather we had here in Melbourne. The pics could easily have been taken here today. It's still blowing
and raining.
Good on ya's for getting out of bed:thumb
Hope you found a warm place to sit and chat
Hoping for better weather here next week for our cruise:sandrine
We've had 58 mm of rain here in Swansea in the last two days. The place is a swamp.
Wouldn't be wanting to cross Bass Strait right now:jesus:puke
Unfortunately I didn't go on the trip, but I did get to meet up at the market in Devonport. Had a good chat with some of the guys, top bunch of blokes (and girls, sorry). Gotta dust the buggy off for the big do in November so I don't miss another event... Oh by the way, nice cars guys.:thumb
nice one guys!
i really applaud you for braving the weather and getting out there. The vdubs look great.
I know I would have felt reluctant in the cold.... brrrr. I'll have to get used to the idea though, I'm going to move to the Southern island
soon too...
:bounce
Hey Gary.
Paint sorted now!!
YAY.
Should come up pretty good.
Know anyone who wants to buy about 3 litres of bright blue 2-pak?
Nice colour just not the right one.
Jeremy, Good to see.Na I hope not to be painting again for a while.I hope your two pack stays on better than mine. It's stone chipping badly.Mine wasn't done in an oven but I don.t know if thats the problem or not.My paint man said it would be chip resistant and hard wearing.I tend not to beleive him now.Catch ya Gary.
