hi, any recommendations for a a very good car battery, for my vw. thanks greg
Part no 3372 for a standard battery or part no 3552 for a premium battery
Those part numbers are used by roadside services RACV RACQ RAA NRMA etc.
Ours is 5 years old now, and still fine.
This is a recessed post battery as used by many European branded and manufactured vehicles including BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Citroen, Fiat, Lancia,
Vectra etc.
The reason for recessed post being very important with a Beetle is that if someone sits on the back seat and the battery is too high, the metal
springs can touch the battery terminals. This can then start the fibre in the seat to catch fire.
Exide Premium batteries all come with recessed posts, so you don't have to buy the expensive European sizes. They've performed really well for me and have lasted for at least seven years so far. The best part is that K-Mart stock them and therefore they're really cheap, I'm pretty sure that mine was less than $100 at K-Mart.
I recently got the century H/duty DIN53 500CC rated flush top terminals fit under the back seat fine i my 69 baja. available in left and right hand
terminal orientation DIN53R & DIN53L. I got one of each for a dual battery setup. just need to square out a corner in the floor pan to fit them
both on the right side.
cheers
Whats the biggest size that fits in the well?
And in regards the recessed post my bug still the the battery cover set up from stock? Is that rare?
