Endevour replica visit
DubbyFan - June 10th, 2012 at 08:28 AM

Off topic but air powered sometimes, the Sydney based Endevour replica visited my home an island in the Tasman Sea last weekend for the Transit of Venus. Captain Cook was sent south to view this a few years back and this is when he discovered our great southern land, if I got the history right?!

Not much into the stars but every 130 odd years the star Venus which orbits the sun can be seen between earth and the sun. Its just a black dot which you have to look at through special glasses but boy the star gazer people sure get excited about it, that stirred up the astronomers amongst you. I was more impressed by the Endevour, large scale modeling in 1 to 1!

Here is some pic's...........

Nice pics. I had a mate sailing on it on the Eden-Sydney harbour leg, just prior to heading your way I believe.
