reog'ing a convertabl beetle in qld

Hi
Recent aquired a convertable 1970 beetle in fairly good nick although it needs some engine and mech work for road worthy. It is a convertable last registered in NSW. The conversion has been done professionally judging by the body work, roll over bar and the chassis reinforcing/bracing under the pan.
I cant find a complience plate for the conversion on the car but it does have the rego plates and the last rego sticker still on it.

Questions; Any particular process for getting a convertable registered, do I need a engineers report or a complience plate (given its previous rego history)

Is there any way of getting more info on it's previous rego history through NSW transport?

Anythig else I need to worry about before spending any money on it??

nsw doesnt have compliance plates, only engineers certificates. RMS wont give up a copy of the certificate if they even have it. so you would have better luck tracking down the engineer that did the certificate.

not sure on your requirements up there. good luck with it.

Your best bet is to talk to a engineer in queensland and see what will be required to put it back on the road.

Go and talk to QLD Transport. if it's in the "system" as a convertiable there will be no problems.

Hi

The NSW rego sticker should have a notation on it but what use that would be I'm not sure.

I have had a number of dealings with Qld transport about rego for my Thing - long story but PM me if you want to know some interesting interpretations currently held by the department

Good luck
