Ovals on the road?
dubai - July 12th, 2012 at 09:45 PM

Hi,

Is there anyway we can figure out how many oval window beetles are out there still registered and in use and the years of each?

Like in the uk they can tell you via some sort of data base check.

Anyway I have a 54 as a daily driver. Thats one.

Thanks:blush:

one line/lot saying - road regoed, and a second line/one saying - shed resto
that will give a quick snapshot as to numbers ;)

I have a 55' oval, registered and I've only owned her for about 2 weeks :) She's not my daily, but I try and get her out of the garage a couple of times per week!

Here is one oval unknown year but is the pride and joy of an owner from Wodonga. Here it is in Yea for the Bushrodders show and Shine Marck 2012.

I know there's none to 68 but does the lack of collapsible steering column bother any body?

h - July 14th, 2012 at 10:16 PM

erm I have no seatbelts either.. bother.. prolly won't even notice

PHAT BUG - July 15th, 2012 at 11:20 AM

I just sold a shed worthy '56.

There's at least 10 ovals in know of in Bendigo, only 4 on the road though.

It's the lack of style that bothers me about anything post '68.

Yep I often lay awake at night thinking "if I have a head-on with a truck that thing could hurt me!!"

BugsyMalone - July 15th, 2012 at 12:42 PM

If you have a head on with a truck, its fair to say even with a collapsable steering column, you are going to be in a WORLD of pain anyway!!!:crazy::crazy:
