oh this will be interesting, me thinks... but i thought i would put it out there any way as i am not decided as yet which way to go.

OK i will be up front and say i went for 1916 (even though i own a 1776) but on the provison that

2) the case is decked

Are you going to build it your self??

What are the rest of the parts???

carbs

This should be lively :bounce:bounce

where's the 24valve 2497cc V6 option? :P

twoguns - August 27th, 2003 at 05:07 PM

yes to both blue741, but mike at CBB ha got the honours of building it, when i DECIDE.

and wes i have thought long and very hard. was thinking about one of those v6's out of the eunos. but where to put the radiator and other little puzzles and the on going objections of "no not in a splitty" has taken its toll. did think maybe mount a radiator and thermo fan inside one of the side louvers.............

Baja Wes - August 27th, 2003 at 05:10 PM

With good planning and a bit of thought, you should be able to get a radiator to work just about anywhere. Mine is above my gearbox and works fine. It is very well disguised.

I think one of the indian buses run their radiated in a similar position.

The Eunos 30X has a 1.8lt version of my motor. Which Eunos you talking about?

twoguns - August 27th, 2003 at 05:14 PM

that was the one. would it be a similar size to a vw motor? you would be the man to know.

Baja Wes - August 27th, 2003 at 05:26 PM

It's the same size as the 2.0 and 2.5lt version. So you might as well go for the 2.5lt version.

Size;

A bit longer, but should fit a kombi. Bit of cutting in a splitty.

The main prob is the intake throttle body and distributor hang over the gearbox, which I believe would be into the fuel tank on a kombi?

Probably too much trouble in the end. But the results are very nice.

I went the 1916 even though the 1776 would be a nice motor if ya gona spend the cash go large. Theired be buger all diference in price but the 1916 would not bore ya alfter a month or two.

whatabout subaru? earlier 1.8 will fit fine, or u could go the flat6 svx - at least its still flat! and POWERFUL

Andy42 - August 27th, 2003 at 06:35 PM

Well i think unless you want to keep it fairly original why not go with a newer fuel injected and water cooled motor. Yeh it is more work as I have found out but i believe the benifits will outweigh the extra work.

NigeType3 - August 28th, 2003 at 05:30 PM

When I said I went for the 1916 I ment I voted for the 1916 sorry for any confusion
