What size car cover for beetle? Super cheap auto
TheLowerClass - July 22nd, 2012 at 11:29 AM

Hey guys
I've had issues in the past with car covers not quite fitting beetles, not going over both bumpers, not keeping out water etc. does anyone have a car cover they would recommend and what size should I get? Thinking of just going to super cheap auto. It's to store a car outside so needs to be rain resistant.
Thanks much appreciated

You really need to spend more money on a car cover.
the silver type with a soft felt like inside.. also the thicker the better.
type 3's are more like the standard 3 box shape of cars..
Beetles are very different. better to have a larger rather than a smaller cover too..
most car covers don't last long out in the SUN.. the UV rays kill them.. I had a canvas car cover many years ago.. just a large rectangular size. I used to double it over. it lasted many years out in the weather..

I don't think waterproof car covers are a good idea for cars kept outside. My theory is that water is guaranteed to get under them somewhere, and with a cover over the top it will not be able to dry out. My advice would be to just give the car a good coat of wax and don't cover it with anything else. I have a parts car which is stored outside, it was under a tarp for a while, but the tarp disintegrated. I don't think it really helped much.
