QLD Valla warning
grinderman - July 27th, 2012 at 05:30 PM

A couple of weeks ago We decided to take the coast road when returning from a week in Canberra. We found this to be a very slow drive because of a massive amount of roadworks. It took about 6 hours to get from coffs to the gold coast and the delays seemed to be both ways. I guess this will suit some air- coolds that drive at a leasurely pace but if you want maximum Valla time I think an inland route would have to be quicker. I'm sure by the next Valla the 4 lane by- passes will be complete and shave off hours

I drove down to Nambucca last weekend. Wasn't to bad. a few slow points. worst being through emerald beach to coffs. only advice is to wash your car after you get to nambucca and not before :)

It's the same every Valla, always roadworks!

To avoid this section you can go the back way from south grafton to coffs via Nana Glenn And coramba. Lovely flowing country road away from the traffic and will be same time if not quicker!

It's called orara way, shows up on maps, I always use it
