No refund or Warranty 009
bugmaniaar - August 13th, 2012 at 11:28 AM

Hi all
I Was just flicking through a well known VW parts suppliers web site and saw those cheap 009 dizzys and when you click on the more info tab you see the statement NO WARRANTY and NO REFUND......
Is this right, can you sell something that is so bad you would be able to get away with that???

Well If you are buying one of those $49 Chinese knock off POS you may as well be throwing your money away anyway.

Stick with Bosche German or at lease Mexican.
or even better invest in a Aircooled svda esp for standard carb applications. Mitchell

If that is an Australian seller, they cannot limit your right to a refund if the product is unfit for purpose; it is in fact illegal for them to claim to limit you rights to warranty claims in the event of a serious defect.

For more info., see http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/the_acl/downloads/consumer_guarantees_g...

For overseas sellers, it depends on the governing laws of the country where the sale is deemed to be made; in other words, good luck with that.

If they let you know it's rubbish before you buy surely that's a good thing?

Better to know, than buy it and then find out there is no warranty or refund!

It should make You buy elsewhere... lol

as stated on most overseas websites on ebay..
it depends on the country..
and We have laws... like 30 days return etc..

but if You had a box of those chinese dizzies
You wouldn't want to give warranty either...

LEE

PS: I know some shops have boxes of these they cannot or will not sell..

If it is the same guys as I am thinking about, I received the wrong part by mistake and they went out of there way to rectify the miss sale.

But then again I bought a saw from a hardware store a while back and as i paid for it they gave me the manufactures contact as they didnt want to deal with the warranty issue - but the saw is still going a couple of years later (though it never cut straight).

I had one in my big bore stroker for a while, it worked okay but never failed. I replaced it with an old school Mallory unit and noticed the smoother power instantly. For the cheap cost it's an easy replacement for next to nothing.. don't be scared to use one, they are everywhere.
