BIG W have been selling EXIDE batteries for many years
[also sold them as champion brand]
I have buying My batteries from them for many many years
the recessed posts batteries which are the correct ones for beetles aren't expensive like they were a few years ago..

Will need a new strap/ cover set up though (easy)

got mine from Big W too after reading Lee's comments in another thread.
I got 550cca with recessed terminals and has coool red top for $160
