Have a set of genuine popouts for my Beetle but concerned whether they will keep the water out. Seals are new WCM. How do others find them?
Cheers.......Wayne
No leeks on mine. They haven't been in long tho
nope.
Have never had a problem with pop outs on my beetles leaking. Ensure you have the right size pinch weld installed around the window frame and that your windows are correctly aligned and they should close nicely.
not if you use the good seals
And are WCM the good seals?
should be as they instigated them
Hi
Is your car an early or late? The late ones have the holes predrilled, the early ones you have to drill holes so if you get the holes terribly wrong
you could have leaks.
I have them in 2 late cars with no leaks. The pinch weld on late cars has no effect on sealing, im not sure if that applies to early cars.

Mines a late. 1968 German build. All I have to do is find the pre drilled holes although there was a post on here a fair while ago which suggested a
method of locating the holes under the headliner. Hopefully I can find the printout I did in my VW file

They came with pinchweld however I am going to use new. Local place stocks all different sizes of pinchweld so just need to take a sample. Mine were
removed from a Beetle in a Singapore wreckers years ago by a fellow club member. I reco'd the hardware and they have sat in the shed ever since.

The pinch weld i use has the rubber seal on one side and acts as a secondry seal , i got mine fron clark rubber, i think it is the same as the mexican bonnet seal
Mine don't
Good idea vw060. I will check it out
