does the car need to be street registered ?

speedster356 - August 31st, 2003 at 07:35 AM

I'm not sure, I think it does. Just trailer it out and slap some plates on it. This is something I would never do mind you.:thumb:D
You have to get out there early I hear because of all the Mud Mazdas that get out there. That's sick maaaate.

speedster356 - September 22nd, 2003 at 09:35 PM

Sorry Pete I'm out, can't make this one unfortunately I have exams.

I've included a pic though of my car reset off the bump stops, hoping for better traction and weight trasfer. Dunno how i drove around for 6 years on the stops, rides so nice now though!!!!!!

Maybe the next one!

I'm leaving Botany about 3PM, not sure of the layout at Eastern Creek. I think there is a Bug from Flat Four going out. Chris with the FI 2100. Scutineering is from 3-6:30.
Leigh, that must make quite a difference now that you have some travel in the rear!

amazer - September 23rd, 2003 at 01:22 PM

Leigh, your engine lid is open. I reckon you should lose it all together. Your car would make a nice baja.

XXX-1.8T - September 23rd, 2003 at 04:05 PM

XXX-1.8T - September 24th, 2003 at 10:05 AM

Leigh did I see ur beast at VW Village today?

1303Steve - September 24th, 2003 at 10:46 AM

Hi Peter L

I was at Eastern Creek on the really windy Sunday a few weeks ago, the passenger in the 914 Porsche next to me got out and his door got caught in the wind and just hit my rear 1/4 :cussing

1302Steve

amazer - September 24th, 2003 at 11:02 AM

so if it hit your rear 1/4 how come you still here and your car is in the shop?

porsche pile of junk.

vw59 - September 24th, 2003 at 05:05 PM

Hi,

Nope not mine. There's another phantom getting around that I keep hearing about. Guys at work ring me on my mobile telling me I should be at work on a weekday and not cruising around in my car. Everytime they ring I'm at my work desk!!!

Chris, yes I've often thought of turning it into a Baja Bug, but it would stand out too much! I like the stealth look.

Pete you'll love it, hooks up with ease now.

Cheers Leigh

They did a bit better with mid to high 14's

Man there were some fast cars there.
Heaps running 12's and 13's

Even a couple sub 10's :o

XXX-1.8T - September 24th, 2003 at 11:47 PM

:beer

jakriz - September 25th, 2003 at 12:30 AM

Hey Baz, what were the engine specs of the 2 beetles? & what was Pete in? the 1916 speedster or the subaru spyda?
Jak

vw54 - September 25th, 2003 at 07:42 AM

Jak

Yep that was Pete in the Speedster with 1916.

speedster356 - September 25th, 2003 at 09:23 AM

Was a great night, had lots of fun.
The last run I did I had moved my seat prior, as I launched at the lights the seat slid back and I neally disapeared into the back seat!
Next time I'm going to tune the car. The webers are as they came out of the box from new and need some jetting.
As they say at Eastern Creek......."that's fully sick maaaate"
