Hi everyone, here is a few photos my dad took sometime in the 80's at the day of the VW at Albert Park in VIC before Albert Park was turned into a GP
track. Where are they now?
Rusty.
well Shrapnel is most likely in Warwick
great pics!
all the cars need a good wack with the lowering stick tho
great pics mate!! Wonder what happened to the majority of these cars!!
Well my car is still on the road. It is the VW blue VW1500 parked under the tree next to the split window Beetle. My VW wasn't in the show but I have
no idea why the split wasn't. Never ceases to amaze me why folks with great cars don't want to enter them in shows. BTW, my Beetle was not show
worthy then and is less so now but still going at least.
Cheers.....Wayne
awsome pics. in the second photo with the black and red bug the grey
split window bug behind it. i know where that is. its a fake split but with
has a split dash.
one last pic I forgot to add...

The splitty with the vents in the engine cover looks like it has SA rego- didn't Richard Newbery do one of those many years ago?
yea your right NB, pretty sure it's going through a rebuild at the moment. Interesting story about how he got the split clip. Ask him next time you
see him.

Thats what promTed my memory- I remember the story. I also remember him telling me about all the early stuff, including new split bumper bars and overiders being tossed to the dump.
