I know this is probably a long shot but can anyone tell me if this would fit a 59 beetle with flat windscreen. It was the guys father and he has passed away and does not know what it fits.

Get him to take a measurement for tab to tab on the sides. If this is close to your a pillar locations you should be okay.
As far as postage goes, weight is not too bad but size and fragility would be the issue. If he is happy to box and stuff with newspaper you would have to get quotes.
