Hey All,
Heading over the the U S of A for a couple weeks in January,
Will be staying in California not far from the Gene berg shop!!
Of course will be heading over there to buy a shifter and a few other parts (suggestions also please ahaha)
But what other great things besides theme parks, Hollywood ect is great to do in California (first time traveler)!! Definitely going to go to an nba match!
Would be great to hear other people's experiences and tales!!
Thanks
Mike

Hey Mike!
Looks like I'll be heading back over there at the same time, but will just be passing through California to head to Tampa, Florida.
As for my stay in LA, we did the Santa Monica pier, Hollywood Boulevard and then the drive up Mulholland to the Hollywood sign lookout.
Need to go to a sports bar just to experience it, but don't recommend getting food at them.

Best of all, just have a super duper amount of fun!

Yes, Pomona Swap Meet is on January 13 in LA - you MUST experience at least one of these in your lifetime.

Mike

If your intending to buy certain items i would suggest that you ring the shop well in advance and actually buy the items and then pick up on the holiday date

most shops dont carry too much stock so dont be disappointed

You have to do the boardwalk from Santa Monica to Venice beach.
Also do a bunch of online shopping and have the stuff delivered to your hotel.

Sorry Mike, 'been distracted.
Looks like the Pomona site is 'down' just now - Cyclone Sandy related I presume as some other regular haunts are down too. Keep an eye on it - I'm sure that it will come up soon.

The Pomona Swap Meet is held roughly every two months in Pomona in 'the hills', south/east of LA.

Decades ago it was the odd mix of Chevrolet and Porsche only - there was always a lot of VeeDub there as well. It is now considered a Chevrolet, Porsche, VeeDub Show. Concourse, Cars For Sale all sorts of side show events and of course the SwapMeet. In promoting the event, the organisers often refer to "15 miles of swap sites".

One time, when I really "needed" a lot of stuff, I hired a van and a wheel barrow and parked the van in a good spot over night - it is a big problem carrying stuff around.

Call it up on YouTube to get a feel for what it is all about.
