How much was Your NSW Green Slip ?? CTP
68AutoBug - November 17th, 2012 at 10:56 PM

The Green slip [CTP Insurance] for My 68 Beetle is $344-33

from GIO Insurance.

They ask if it has an NRMA [breakdown service] on it, which I haven't as I don't go far ... lol
[like RACQ RACV etc] so, I'm assuming its cheaper if You have..

they also mention cars OVER 10 years old..
so, this now makes a difference too.. probably ++$

and if the car has been insured fully for Over 4 years [contin]
so more $$ if Your car is NOT insured.. all the time..

and more for fines.. etc... accidents...??

and where You live...

but No BIG DISCOUNTS for low kilometres driven each year..
lol...
they don't even ask How many Dogs are guarding Your car...

BUT there are BIG differences in prices from the other CTP
Insurers.. ??

i use this one to shop around before renewing mine
http://prices.maa.nsw.gov.au
i get mine through shannons, its the cheapest on the market, the only catch is you have to have the car insured with shannons

Hi Barls

I did have My beetle insured with shannons a few years ago but for some?? reason went back to NRMA vintage classic insurance
and I used to have the green slip with NRMA too...

I will check shannons for both..

Cheers

I always check out the prices on the net, some years ago I did that then made a phone call rather that rely on the net price, cheaper?!, so I visited their office, cheaper again !!, beats me why, anyway I now use Shannons, I'm about to find out how good they are as I broke the wind screen on the Caddy, first claim coming up (maybe), yes I know thats not a green slip claim.

page 20 of their PDS says they'll pay for one windscreen or window glass breakage claim without applying an excess or the no claim discount being affected if glass breakage is the only damage sustained - but that's for their comprehensive policy, don't know if you have it.

Never had the chance to check how straightforward that is, but it looked like a handy perk to me when I signed up.
