[FS - VIC] '62 rat rod beetle. *Sold*
Dandub - April 2nd, 2013 at 12:23 PM

A very reluctant sale of much loved car. I am selling my 1962 beetle. I have spent many hours on this car and it will be sorely missed but we are moving over seas. It is used as a daily driver to get me to and from work so no expense spared when it comes to maintenance. In the last 12 months its had new front shocks, new complete clutch kit, new clutch cable/tube, rear brake shoes and machined drums. Its is serviced at most every 6000 miles.

Have also replaced the sound deadener and carpet but not after painting the floor pan which has had a patch welded under the battery at some stage. Thats pretty much it as far as rust goes apart from the obvious surface stuff.

It had a reconditioned gear box 4 years ago but it will crunch into 2nd if you rush it. It has a late 1600 twin port with sport exhaust, 009, and a stock carb. It has gas struts on the hood, 14 x 5 wide five rims with 185/14 on the front and 205/75x14 on the rear, a rustic roof rack, windscreen sun shade, phone holder with iPhone charger and 3.5 jack (head phone size) to 4 channel 350watt fusion amp.

Defiantly more rat than rod ! Will not be for every ones taste but I like and it does put smiles on faces.

Comes with the compulsory box of parts starter motor, new distributor, new rear side window rubbers, some glass, 2 spare rear deck lids, a tow bar, 2 tyres and any thing else VW I can find.

Looking for $5750 and open to offers

Am in Elwood, Melbourne

Nice! That wheel and tyre combination set the whole car up! What are they?

Dandub - April 5th, 2013 at 08:52 AM

They are 14 x 5 1/2" wide 5 wheels, with 185/14 on the front and 205/75/14 on the rear.

Wanted some white walls but fuel and insurance always had to come first !

Also I couldn't decide on a colour hence the white on one side and orange, orange/white on the other !

Dandub - April 5th, 2013 at 09:03 AM

The other side.
