WANTED 69 squareback
tilbrookfamily - April 19th, 2013 at 09:02 PM

We can provide a new home with happy family for a solid 69 or earlier variant as a daily driver (although we'd prefer disc brakes and IRS conversions for the pre-69s). No rust buckets! We'll have to get it passed for QLD rego :) Looking up to $5-7K depending on quality. Email if preferred is: johk307 at gmail.com

Theres the blue on in the for sale section

tilbrookfamily - April 24th, 2013 at 10:31 AM

hmm yes we're definitely not that rude in real life!! Maybe it was all the excitement and hope of joining the vw community... Jo and I settle in each night when the bubs gone to sleep and feverishly open aussiebveedubbers to oooh and aah over members cars. (If you'll please excuse us, we haven't seen too many in person) Squarebacks are just so fine.

Jo worked hard on his HK before we met, she's a stunner. I'm more a greenie so the notion of keeping an old gems heart beating for another few decades really appeals. Still...I'm head over heals for the T3 wagons.

Elanora's superb Shaven! What a specimen of a car, must have been a joy to come together. But then I have romantic ideas if you can't half tell already.

So I'll cut the epic there, and just say, G'Day! We're in south east QLD and hoping to get along to a swap and shine or coffee run to meet some folks real soon.

~ Sara, Jo and Ember

Welcome on board. There is also the Gold Coast show on 5th May you can go along to see a few cars and possibly some for sale as well. Do a search on here and you will find details of where it is held.

Hey there, thanks for the warm welcomes...and we reeeeally appreciate the pointers. Still learning where to look ;-)

We've got the day off work to get along to the show and shine, woot!

tilbrookfamily - May 5th, 2013 at 03:15 PM

Thanks Kraus, thanks very much for the info on the slammed and narrowed one... we are looking for a more practical version for our little family, also half of that price would be a lot easier on the wallet!

Thanks frog, the misses says she could have kissed you 3 days ago, i had a look at this one and was a little dissapointed of the condition in person, then the price kept rising due to another keen bidder in sydney. we did our sums and passed on it. Nice for a project though.

...still looking

Meanwhile the show was great

Bit bold Matt - don't recall you doing something similar when you were on the hunt for a square nor have I seen others on here, DSK or KC doing it but then it's your call. They state $5/$7k not $5x$7k (your $35k). Don't think they needed to apologise to you or any others for what you think they should have done = my call. so pratice what you preach and respect members - no good welcoming after having a dig without retracting or apologising.

Bert with all due respect i think you need to pull your head in:!:

Firstly, it was said tongue in cheek (thats why there was a little smilely icon & one blowing kisses).

Secondly, why would i sell my Squareback when ive only had it a short time:dork: as for putting the price of $35k on it... bugger me i think uve been around enough to realise a joke.

Thirdly, i didnt ask ANYONE to apologise to me OR anyone else!!! It wasnt that long ago i was looking for my SB myself you are Correct BUT id been a member a bloody long time before that!

Conclusion:
IMO when anyone is looking for a car, part etc etc its always nice to say hi. Get to know other members by name. Sara, Jo & Ember replied with a lovely hello to all. Now members know where they live, who they are etc ... now they get to meet other like minded VW people ... I in turn (if you read the above:no:) also replied in a very friendly manner...

Wouldnt hurt if you actually re-read the Thread & took a chill pill:crazy:
