Hi gents
Posting for my brother, who is looking to move his DC on. He writes:
1960 or 61 Split Window Double Cab Ute.
NSW rego until September
Not sure what size the motor is, it runs, starts every time, even if its been left for a long time and goes well. It has an L bug gearbox, Indian
automotive IRS in the back, its been lowered all round, link pin front end and drums all round, which have all been serviced and maintained by Kimm at
Indian.
The body is very straight and mostly rust free, the gates have very little rust, you can't see any but there are a few crumbs rattling around when
they get closed, they close very well, like new, the rust has been treated. All 3 doors close like new, there is a little rust spot coming through on
the passengers door, we are talking very small.
It has been fitted in a previous restoration with original deluxe parts, belt line trim, vent trims, interior trims, clock and safari windows. Those
of you who know its history know it sat at Port Melbourne for a very long time, so the safaris are rusty chrome and are probably well past it.
The trim is now check material and Astro turf for flooring with new seat belts up front and seat belts at the rear.
17inch radars on it with tyres that are like new.
I rarely drive it, one trip to Old Bar, with no problems and to Berry where I ran out of fuel as the fuel gauge is a bit dodgy.
Overall it's a super clean, rare VW, it could be left as is, or make it your own with an easy restoration. No major rust repairs to get done, and its
all there. It's had loads of money spent to get it to this stage.
$45,000 negotiable
Vehicle is located in Manly, NSW
