Other project opportunities have pushed this van out early, and so today I'm offering the brothers and sisters on the forums a "blank canvas"!
Camper? Off-road tradie van? Surfin' safari ship? So much of the boring stuff is done: mechanicals, rust removal, and more than a touch of glam (not
an inch of VW tan/beige is left!), I wish I could have done the camper fit-out I planned
:-(
Most of you will know what's on offer, so there's no "selling" of the mighty 'Syncro' pedigree in this listing, but here are the vitals of this
example:
Water Cooled, 2.1L EFI 5 speed manual
Plus... Power Steering (thanks Telecom!) AND Air Con!
Heaps of mechanical, interior and bodywork just done.
In the last 12 months... replaced: master & slave clutch cylinders; left front wheel bearing; brakes & all fluids • full garage service •
wheel alignment • rust removal: mainly on the front end, also chassis, rear door and tail section; all proper plate, no bog • refurbished or
replaced all plastics and interior components • new CD/aux stereo and speakers • ply then carpet-tile floor • new panel linings all round, over
insulation • all black cabin with factory rubber floor and custom fitted seat covers • smoked 'euro' front and rear lenses • huge 8" fog
lamps • alloy bullbar • huge 'Telecom' rear number/step/seat • after market steel wheels...just waiting for some huge rubber!
Rego ready. NSW Blueslip, RWC, interstate delivery, all by negotiation. This baby is ready to go! Use it today, or go go crazy on your own
conversion.
Located in Sydney (southern suburbs near Hurstville), any inspection invited.
I am confident the value of this syncro platform will be appreciated by a forum member or a mate they know has been "wanting"... or the van hits
ebay after this weekend :-(
Now on ebay, so the price is "Best Offer"

Hi,
I was wondering if you could tell me what work has been done to the van since it was brought from QLD a last month?
Cheers,
Hi baydude, thanks for your enquiry. They say "a picture is worth a thousand words", so if you knew this syncro in Qld, you'd have a hell of a vocabulary, even from these first few photos! But quickly, we got it roadworthy, then we put our money where our mouth is (and where a lot of hard-earned had gone!) and drove it to Sydney, and she was awesome ...now. We stripped it out to create the base for our camper project, many of the inclusions are in pics and listed. Tweaked mechanical, electrical, bodywork and paint as required. Just shy of opening the chequebook to the $10k fit-out, we had another project too many come by…sadly this one is off for someone to turn into their beast. While every syncro owner I have spoken to about the price believes we are opening too low, we are offering it here first thinking that it will move quickly to another staunch enthusiast. Otherwise it's to the open market where it could end up with an off road terrorist... like an ex-Land Cruiser convert! ;-) We have a Series 1 Range Rover in mid restoration, so we can't complain about staying "on" road, or being too greedy with our off road capability! Best you come and have a look over her.
Cool,
Thanks for the info.
Heading to ebay Wednesday night. Will post link.
Hi Vince4avd I love the van and I'm in the market for a type 3. Unfortunately too much for me as 10k is my budget. Good luck on ebay, feel free to contact me if you have no luck. James.
Now on ebay, item#141000374373

bangalowvw I have sent you a PM. Paul
Cheers Paul.
Thanks for the good wishes. New pics up on ebay tonight for those interested.
Commercial carpet tiles and all new panels further the striking black and white theme. Leaves the usual beige on brown for dead! Could this be your
new van or camper?

Bid with confidence!...
The Syncro now has a NSW "Blueslip" (full inspection and road worthy certificate), and so can be bought and driven away on new number plates!
It also means that the van can get a Unregistered Vehicle Permit and be legally driven anywhere. If the buyer is out of NSW, you can collect and drive
away, or, I can deliver anywhere in Australia for a fee (cheaper than on a truck).
Please note: the Syncro will have it's interstate number plates on it this weekend, as it is still fully registered. If anyone wants a test drive, then is the time to do it!
