Fs- 182's
wiseoldub - August 8th, 2013 at 09:01 PM

Ok, a mate of mine has been working on getting a few 182's into oz for a while now and they will finally be here next week!! They are nut and bolt resto's that will be in new paint (beige I think) and will be ready to drive with blue slip. These have been done in indo, but under heavy scrutiny to not do a dodgy job. My mate has spent the dollars to do them right
He wants $15000 per car.
They will be in Byron
My contact is 0414726194 and I will be able to field calls and send pics to interested parties. I won't have pics Til next week, but feel free to show interest and I will log your details and send the info to you when it is available.
Condition will be good, with new upholstered seats and new paint and all work done(I am told)blue slipped
The cars will be available in Byron
Cheers
Josh

Anyone interested?

dragsters for life - August 12th, 2013 at 06:26 AM

pics and so on would help, you did say built in indo....

No Dunes - August 12th, 2013 at 06:00 PM

Anything built in Indonesia I am guessing Jakarta. I would want to see the begining to end photos of the build
and for $15,000 they would want to be perfect .

What's a 182?

Nickster - August 12th, 2013 at 06:18 PM

oh.. a Trekker/Thing

wiseoldub - August 12th, 2013 at 07:39 PM

Yea, I know there is a stigma for stuff done in indo, but it's all getting a lot better. And my mate has been over seeing this one so they are done right. $15000 is not too much for a nut and bolt resto. My mate resto's a few older Porsches in oz a few years back, so he knows how to do it. I will supply pics as soon as they are available to me. I would get one if I had the dollars, Iove these 'things'
Stay tuned.....

nils - August 13th, 2013 at 08:17 AM

Doh,.... six months ago i would have been on this like craig thompson on a union credit card. I've always wanted one, but now have all my money invested in the combi..

$15000 is pretty cheap for nut and bolt resto really. (If its done well anyways)

vwo60 - August 13th, 2013 at 09:56 AM

Awaiting the photos. people might be interested then, I think were they have been restored might be a problem, but on the other hand some of the crap work i have seen done by reputable restorers in Australia does not reflect well on those bussinesses, these might have been restored well and are worth the money, with the wonders of the internet there should be no issues in getting the photos to post,

+1.

I've seen the supposed fully nut and bolt restored Vespas, usually from Indo or Vietnam, from what I've seen there cab be an inch of bog in places (after all you can cover anything with bog and make it look good) and unfortunately people buy them, import them, realise how bad they really are then onsell them without letting on. By the time the original buyer realises, it is usually too late to claim anything on paypal too, they make you wait 3 months while they build it just for you.

Not that I'm saying these will be the same but its certainly a concern and people would probably want to go over the car before comitting to buy.

wiseoldub - August 13th, 2013 at 03:29 PM

I remember my uncle telling me years ago, to take a magnet when looking at a car to buy. Then if you put it onto the car and it doesn't stick, you know there's bog. Maybe I can get the dude to do a magnet test ,? Anyway, he tells me they ate all good and that I will have pics this week, do lets hope so!
Cheers to all interested.

wiseoldub - August 18th, 2013 at 07:44 AM

Pics are in. I have also asked for resto pics. Prices are more than I originally understood but full resto done.
I am limited in my 'puter cleverness so I can't put pics up here but I can email to you directly. Maybe some really clever can then put them up for me.
They look really clean. And these 'things' lower real easily to look awesome!!!
Let me know!!

that advert says nothing about the true origin of the vehicle (except for lazy non aussie photos posted). "REGISTRATION SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IN ANY STATE" = not easy!
I would stay well away from it! my 2c

wiseoldub - August 24th, 2013 at 06:47 PM

Pretty sure he has registered one in nsw previously with no dramas

esevwbits - August 26th, 2013 at 04:59 PM

Green one was a nice little unit..

blue ones.. well the indonesians still havent worked out metallics.

Engine codes were AF 1600s..

bit leaky but from a quick walk around looked ok

heading up to Byron tonight.

wiseoldub - August 28th, 2013 at 05:03 AM

I've just been sent a bunch of pics so let me know if you would like them sent to you.
Cheers, josh
As I said earlier. These are not mine. My mate is not a member here and I told him I would happily help him out. I am limited in my knowledge on these but I'm happy to get details on resto for you.
Cheers
