[WTB - SA] 1303/L Bug Project
SebastienPeek - November 17th, 2013 at 05:08 PM

I'm on the lookout for a rolling shell of a 1303/L Bug.

Doesn't matter about rust/condition, as it will be a project car. Doesn't need an engine, doesn't need fenders either, I'm literally just want a rolling pan and shell. Hell, they don't even have to be together at this stage.

I'm in SA. I'd prefer an SA vehicle, but depending on condition, would go to Melbourne to pick up.

Not looking at spending much. Probably around 1k.

Contact me here via PM.

Yeah, but not using this website for the build thread. Too many people on here will turn up their noses and shit. Not worth the hoopla.

It's over here though.

Hi

Looked bad when I first read that post but looks to be OK after reading more.

Do you still have any bits left over from your old bug to use on this one?

Steve

SebastienPeek - December 1st, 2013 at 09:20 PM

Yeah Steve, there was a part of me that went "What the hell have I got myself" but then I realised I at least have something to work on now!

I have a few bits here and there. I have a front bumper and front valance from Zelda and that is about it as I sold the rest to get some money back for parts on the Subaru.

Still a lot of work to do to strip her back where I want her to be before I start. Hopefully have the body off the pan this week.

Craig Torrens - December 11th, 2013 at 02:52 PM

It's had a rear ender repair in a past life.
At one point those buldgy fuel injection aprons were all you could get.

Notch65s - December 11th, 2013 at 09:59 PM

i have a 74 and a 75, i don't mind the buldgy ones, i have seen your posts heaps all over the samba Joel, it appears that you have AC in ur super, Very Cool! Would love to learn some stuff about it from you

SebastienPeek - December 11th, 2013 at 10:27 PM

It has definitely had a rear ender Joel, thankfully the pan is still true. I guess it doesn't really matter either way as I will be replacing it all anyway.

Speaking of which, need to put up a WTB for some panels. Fucking rust.

Notch65s - December 12th, 2013 at 10:22 AM

what are ur grand plans for the resto? i really wanna mkae one of my supers into a "sportsbug" the US and UK special edition.

SebastienPeek - December 12th, 2013 at 11:42 AM

Spirited weekender, a lot of suspension work and upgraded brake setups.

The end goal, will hopefully be something I can enjoy and have fun in. Definitely will be a head turner.

I prefer the buldgy Fuel injection aprons on late cars too, they look more at home with the elephants feet tail lights, I got a fibreglass one from Volksconversions on mine.

Check page 8 of my build thread, thats where the A/C install is.
I tried to include as much info as possible but PM me if you would like any other details.

I'm kicking myself now for not buying a set of the GT/Fuel injection bug rims that were forsale at Valla last year
A GT sports 1303 would be awesome.

Notch65s - December 12th, 2013 at 09:58 PM

i just purcahsed a complete lowering kit from airkewld.com and am looking forward to getting that fitted sometime in the new year.
