FOR SALE 1962 beetle 'charlie' with 1300cc engine.

Price: $4500
Location: south coast, near nowra
i bought this car 3 yrs ago off my girlfriend and have done the following work since:

ENGINE:
new pistons and barrels, reconditioned cylinder heads, new oil cooler, reconditioned carby,
new coil, condenser and rebuilt vac distributor, new clutch and compression tested and tuned by local vw mechanic
BODY:
replaced both heater channels with quality reproductions, replaced both rear floor-pan halves and painted with por15, replaced both A-pillars and repaired rust holes in rear quarters.
INTERIOR:
installed dynamat sound deadening, replaced carpet, reupholstered seats and replaced door cards.

the car has drop spindles in the front and lowered slightly in the rear, i did it for looks but also improves handling.
The majority of rust has been removed from the car however, there is a crack in front left guard developing which seems like it has been damaged in the past and repaired with bog, same deal in the engine lid just under the rego plate and a few rust bubbles at the bottom of the doors and one on the bonnet which i never got around to welding up. Luckily, they are on removable parts of the car that can be unbolted and worked on( or replaced) easily if you want, however it did pass compliance test recently as is.
