Maybe he should just put something like $8,000 or open to offers just to make those people who have to follow set rules happy.

Auctions of any type. If you want an auction, there's zillions of sites for that. List there and link your ad in our Offsite buying and selling cars

Expressions of interest ("for sale only if I get a great offer, but I'm not saying what my price is") are not welcome here.

Prizes ("Buy a ticket to my charity's raffle and you can win a VW Golf GTI"). This forum is for buying and selling cars, not winning a car. You can post prize ads to the offsite forum if you must, but don't be spammy about it.)
