Selling my 1968 German import beetle. I’m selling it to fund another project. This has been my daily driver for the past few years and it goes first time every time – engine is brilliant and has just had a tune to make sure it’s 100% for the new owner (plugs, tappets, compression, points, timing, etc). Stops great and rides pretty well for a lowered vw (scrapes certain things every so often). Has rego only until 7th June 2014 and will be sold without a RWC.

3” narrowed BJ beam with adjusters wound down (not the whole way) with shorter empi shocks
Drop spindles (Empi brand)
145/ 165 Nankangs on matte black steelies with matte black hubcaps (145s need replacing)
3 month old KYB gas-adjust shocks on the rear - $120
Upper/ lower ball joints (BJs suited to lowered suspension) done a couple of months ago - $600
Early bumpers fitted (chrome is not perfect)
LED rear brake light
US spec tail lights (no amber)
All new window rubbers except for one of the rears windows (misplaced the rubber when the installer came around)
Sekurit glass all around except the windscreen (replaced 2 years ago)
$1000 of parts and goodies from CIP1 a few years ago (light lenses, rubbers, engine parts, new firewall, chrome bits, handles etc)
New battery last year in 2013
Reconditioned master cylinder in 2013
New discs and callipers in 2010
Wheel bearings done in 2010
New GT40 coil in 2010
Jorge Roof rack (these were designed to dissemble relatively easily for storage)
Period radio
Interior is in very presentable condition (small tear on the lower section of the front seats where the upper section rubs when allowing people in the back)
Original rubber mats under carpet (front section in excellent condition, rear section bad condition)
Ratty but solid paint (just how I like it)

Issues:

Needs two new front tyres
Clutch lever return spring needs attention
Exhaust leak at heater box connections and muffler
Faulty fuel sender unit (fuel gauge only works on a full tank and then at a certain limit will just drop to empty
Indicator stalk does not auto turn off or switch between hi/low beam (constantly on low)
Small amount of rust in body near lower hinge of passenger door
