[FS - QLD] 1958 VW Beetle - Toowoomba $5k
r0880 - April 28th, 2015 at 03:54 PM

$5000.00

Hi considering selling my 58 beetle. Has had a fair bit done to it:
- leather trimmed seats (no not vinyl)
- new TMI door cards in boxes
1600 engine inc 12 volt conversion
- empi 5 wheels
- drop spindles, rear lowered 2 notches
- single piece glass conversion inc new regulator for drivers door (dual lift)
- brand new Kumho tyres all round (0km)
- Alpine CD player with USB and Iphone connection, no speakers however (removed from rear).

Pretty straight, pretty good for rust, drivers door has been welded up but not smoothed over. Is a bit of a mix of parts, semiphores welded up and has seatbelts installed (mod plated), later indicators and tail lights, later push button doors, later steering wheel. Has had engine fire and paint is burnt at rear, but is mechanically fixed and running, clear coat failing on roof etc, so looking a bit ratty. Some/most of the paint is still nice and shiny, but it will need a full respray to be nice again (suspect cheap paint). Has popes nose for rear as well.

I was going to drive it as is, maybe throw some red primer on rear and get painted later on after collecting correct lights, doors with quarter windows and welding up indicator holes in front guards. Shouldn't need much for rwc - speedo replaced as broken needle (spare included), installed engine lid properly (has stand offs as well), fiddly stuff like that. Built in cal look style about 10 years ago.

I've had it 18 months and not finished it yet, selling as I don't ever seem to have time to do anything with it lately. Located Toowoomba QLD. You will need $5k to take it away. Photos on aussieveedubbers facebook page.

Hi thanks for reply, I think I came and saw you about a year ago for doors but they weren't complete and neither were the tail lights. I don't think its a good idea to cut the roof of an early beetle for an after-market sunroof in 2015.
I'm not fussed on steering wheel but would be good to have complete snowflake tail lights, some complete doors with quarter windows and perhaps the side and bonnet stainless strips.
Cheers
Rob
