UPDATE: Because I don't want the car sitting around for too long, I'm going to drop the price massively. $8k is an absolute bargainfor whoever wants to part out the car or finish the work.
Up for sale is my Beetle which was restored over a 3 year process. The entire story and details from beginning to end can be found here:
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=97264
It hasn't been shown at any shows yet.
About a month ago (after some recent mechanical work by a mechanic other than myself or the restoration company that did the majority of the work) an
unsecured fuel line caused fire damage. It has been such a long process that I do not want to continue with this repair process. You can see the
damage in the photos linked below and the thread above.
The end result is a vehicle with over $150k spent. The only parts from the original car are the doors and body. Everything else is new:
$100,000+ on body, restoration and rebuild labour
House of Kolor Silver to Gold paint
Body modifications including removing the rain gutter (and lead-wiping to mould it) and shaved, painted door handles
$6000 on VW parts from CIP1.com
$5000 Scat engine
$1000 EMPI ULTRA HPMX 40mm dual carburetors (one damaged due to fire)
$1375 Dub Drone 5 wheels (5 of them including 1 spare), about $800 on tyres
$1500 audio system
Digital gauges (oil temp, fuel, tacho, speedo)
Viper alarm, remote start, GPS tracking, remote central locking, remote bonnet release
New floorpan, new brakes, new suspension, new interior, new glass, new window rubber, new door rubber new electrical cabling (although some will need
to be rerun after the fire)
This work was finished a year ago and since I have only done about 2000km
So this would suit anyone looking to repair and finish the work again, strip the body and restart or strip out parts.
Looking for $30,000 but all offers will be considered. Included in the purchase would be all invoices, photos and detailed information on the
build and parts.
Inspections welcome in Lane Cove, NSW.

Dane,
Both Emily and I think you will regret parting with this.
We understand you are just over it at the moment.
but give yourself a little time.
Act is haste and you might regret it for a long, long time.
Put a blanket over it,.. come back to it in 6 months.
You can always put it on the market then.
Why let someone else get the rewards of all your dollars spent.
Just our thoughts.
Carl and Emily
