welcome to have a squiz. My mobile number is 0408137017 for anyone interested.
Cheers,
Steve
Go VwWombat!!!!!!!
Would've been perfect, but due to unforseen circumcisions - I mean circumstances, the funds have been raided. Maybe in a couple of months if it's still there?
This auction is ending in about 1/2 hour. C'mon guys..no-one wants a solid, auto 69 square. If no takers for the auction, I will take $1500 firm, if anyone is interested.. Or if it doesnt sell, is anyone interested in the pan (with good IRS auto transaxle and engine) and I will keep the body for a spare (in case my squareback ever gets smashed up.
OK..no love on ebay, so if anyone wants this beast of a car..it's their's for $1500. For pics of the car, just click the ebay link. Can take and
email more pics if required. If in Melbourne please feel free to come and have a look.
It honestly is a good, sound example of the early shape square with the good shit (IRS and front disks) but it could use some cosmetic touch-ups, or
drive as is. Would also make a good rat, but would need some roughing up for that!
Will also throw in a free handshake when the deal is done! If there are no takers, it's going back in the trading post from whence it came!
Steve
im sure wombat will be interested in this one maybe now
yeah buddy..still got it..hopefully not for too much longer!
Heres a pic to help the sale!
...........
Thanks phatbug...much obliged!
Bugger, wish I had the extra cash to buy this, my budget for a square isnt that much at the moment.
No takers...final offer! Will throw in the wife for free!
Description of the wife is as follows:
- Low kms
- Tired duco
- No bog, but a couple of dents
- Tidy interior
- Front end is OK, but the rear end is a bit loose
- Smokes upon start-up and a bit fumy
The wife might even drive the car to it's next destination so make me an offer I cant refuse!

Nah..it's all good. Paddo is a good mate of mine and just running with my sick joke..hope no one has been offended.
Anyone want the car?
yeah nah all in good humour (or bad I suppose).
I have seen the car, and heard it running, she is straight and most importantly rust free, bloody auto though, but I suppose that makes em all the
more sought after.
If I wasn't a fasty man I'd take it off ya hands Stevo
Yeah, and if I had another $500 I would take it too....

I hope somebody buys it. I would like to but cann't afford to adopt another car. Everyday I see it still for sale, it tempts me.
How hard would it be to convert this to manual as I have a manual 1971 square that nasty rust is eating away with a good floor pan.
Cheers Nige
Gday Nige,
To answer your question I'm not really sure. I originally bought this car with the intention to convert to manual by 'bolting in' and manual
transmission, pedal box etc. It can be done this way with some difficulty, but from what I understand it's easier to lift the body off the pan and
trnasfer it to a manual pan. From the sound of it, your pan is ideal for the transfer, and I think the body bolts on directly(but dont quote me on
that).
I think your plan is feasible, but you should maybe ask this question as a seperate post and then all being well, buy the car! The body on my car is
really solid, and would be perfect for a transplant.
Cheers,
Steve
I don't think the 69 and 71 pans are interchangeable. There are some differences which make it quite challenging. If you want detailed info on what is involved, try posting a question on http://www.vwtype3.org, you will get definitive answer.
Sorry if I mislead anyone about the interchangeability of the 2 pans. Someone else informed me that it was possible, but like PurpleT3 suggested they
may not be, and it is best to ask someone that know definitively.
No-one wants an auto? Might have to mothball it for when I get old and cant drive a manual!
I would have it, but I only have a grand to spend, plus it would cost me a coupla hundred more to get it up to bris, if it was registered I could at
least drive it.
damn and bugger it....
