That's the problem, I can't travel. I'm only 17 and my parents aren't too keen on going Interstate.

early bays don't grow on trees ,73 onwards are everywhere but you try to find a good 68, i went to queensland to get one and that is 1600 km from here

Do what we did and get someone to look over the bay for you, then have it transported. it cost us $450 door to door Sydney to Tweed Heads over 900 kms. Good Luck

What if you don't know anyone interstate?

Trust a stranger. A VW mad stranger mind.............

I've found a bay in a town close to where I live. It's exactly what I want except i'm not sure it's for sale. It's been sitting in their front yard for quite sometime and i'm not sure if the motor runs. Should I ask if it's available anyway? Have any of you enquired about a car that wasn't for sale? Also, how difficult are Volkswagen engines to fix?

Thanks.

I have a 71 early bay from western oz in sydney. I can find no rust in it not even the battery tray. one corner is dented the rest is traight. Its a really nice bay that I am doing about 100 miles daily, 9 hours driving in it around town. this van surprised me more and more. I wouldn't let it go without a struggle . Pay me the right price and I will deliver. Let me know if you want pictures
