presumably most people here already own dubs of some sort, so maybe not the best place to sell the kombi ?

What is the history of the motor? Does it have a fridge and stove?

Thanks

hey

i bought the kombi 3 years ago from a dealer in sydney with no history, had loads of work done on the engine, brakes, steering etc, then the main bearing had a fit near adelaide, so i had a complete rebuild done. it`s been regularly serviced and maintained while i travelled, and apart from a dead coil and one dead fuel pump, i never had any trouble in the 60,000km i drove it. i`ve done about 40,000 since the rebuild, and have kept every receipt and report for anything i had done to the engine and everything else. the engine has an oil leak like most veedubs, has never had a problem starting and has never let me down.
there is a 12v/240v/gas fridge which is old but works, although i`ve never tried it on 12v. there is also a gas double burner and a small sink.
hope this is useful.

Hi,

Did you sell your Kombi? It looks great.
Cheers

smaug - January 21st, 2005 at 07:42 PM

hi
no i havent sold it yet, and have run into problems.
ive moved to brisbane, and the bloody thing failed the roadworthy when i tried to change the rego.
bloody oil leak, can u believe it lol.

anyway, i have another car and only 1 garage space, so im selling the kombi unregistered for the first reasonable offer i get. annoying thing is it passed safety inspections twice in nsw and once in nt, always with the same oil leak, ah well.

if anyones interested, please offer something, i wont be offended lol, hopefully theres someone out there who can repair/change the engine or whatever to get it registered, or just clean it up and blag through the inspection, whatever.

Here's a trick.. go to the car wash, wash down and degrease the bottom of the motor, and then drive it directly to a roadworthy tester..

"What oil leak?"

smaug - March 3rd, 2005 at 10:21 PM

kombi still gotta go

have had to send plates back cos now unregistered, will still need oil leak fixing for roadworthy, at least in qld, never had problem anywhere else (dammit lol).

willing to take first reasonable offer, still has camping gear and tools and spares and stuff inside, still drives nice, has cobwebs forming through lack of use and is losing suntan cos stored under my unit.

i lost all my u2u`s when site went crazy, but check every day, can also be contacted on 0404 508796, steve, brisbane

i will not be insulted with any offer, well, i might be, but lets see how we go..

Lams - March 3rd, 2005 at 10:33 PM

sent you a U2U steve
please let me know if you didn't get it
thanks!

smaug - March 20th, 2005 at 06:59 PM

hello again everyone

goddammit i dont want to end up ebaying my kombi or something, so will be willing to except $750 for my precious, or maybe a bit less if persuaded.
still unregistered (lol) and dont want any mucking about for that price, just someone to come get it and take it home.

check u2u's almost every day so send a tell if interested.

Lams - March 20th, 2005 at 10:01 PM

I've checked this this bus out before

at $750 it's the bargain of the decade! heaps of features, engine started first go,nice and solid! $750 is cheaper than a decent mountain bike

too bad I dont have space for a bus :(
somebody get it!

sax - March 21st, 2005 at 08:06 PM
