TYPE 3 WAGON WANTED:new details
choo - October 25th, 2004 at 05:36 PM

Looking for type 3 wagon. Nothing crazy, just a good servicable car. Runs well, no rust. Colour doesn't matter, just as long as it's in good shape. Will look at fastbacks too, wagon preferred. Please help!............

Edit: Squareback, pre 1969 inc. 69, nothing after facelift.
In Melbourne, 3-4k.
Thanks,
Choo

Menangler - October 25th, 2004 at 05:45 PM

I have one for sale at the moment,

Needs tyres and runs out of rego end of November, but has a near new engine, (new case, piston and barrells and heads) done right.

It does have some bubbles of rust coming through that have been touched up, but nothing major, the floorpan is good.

I would like $1800.00 for it, the engine cost more than that to build.

Phone 0402 003965

It is in Nowra NSW

Sorry about that. In Melbourne. But don't let that bother you (within reason) If it's right then its right!
To Dave Becker, sounds great. Any pics. Would this be a good starter. I'm after something that i can drive but slowly get it into shape. Thanks mate

yeah i know i should, just being lazy. You'd be wrapped if i didn't take it. Nice drive back home!!
So what about road worthy. What would have to be done?
Tyres need to be done. steering. How is the interior.
What are the basics?

Will need 3 tyres for rego, the front end feels good, could do with a wheel align as it wore the inside of the tyre. all the lights work, has almost new shocks, no oil leaks, interior is good, no rips in the headliner, small rip in the drivers seat, good door panels. the generator bearings are a bit noisey, been like it since I have had it, not bad enought to replace yet. The engine was fully rebuilt about 3-4 years ago, with a new engine case, piston and barrells, heads, extractors, 009 dizzy. Carbs are originals, and could do with a rebush, but not too bad.

The paint is not perfect, has some scratches where a nice kid wrote her name on the side with a rock! and there is some rust bubbles hear and there, no holes, and some have been rubbed back and painted with something to protect, looks bad.

Its no minter, but has got me to work and back since August and a few trips to Sydney and Canberra, and never let me down.

I just need a twin cab, or I would keep it.

i like the sounds of it. I'm keen. just thinking about getting to nowra. That's just in from ulladulla/mollymook yeah? Could do with a trip to the surf. Will keep you posted.
Sounds fine. I want to play with it but in the mean time i need to get to work too. Would it handle the drive home? (melbourne?)

Nowra is just north of Ulladulla. the car would make it to Melbourne no worries.
