Wow, never knew that twin cab split screens were worth that much! I have owned mine for about 7 years now, never been on the road, and have tried to
sell it through out those years and couldnt get a sniff. I am hanging onto it now as I will be back in oz full time to finish it at the end of 06. I
think the last person who walked through the gate of my parents yard and wanted to buy it only offered $1500. cheeky bugger.
Michael, is that the one in Wollongong?
That splitty twin is worth every penny. One lucky bugger for sure whoever gets it.
Squiz.....
well maybe…
I bid on it, only to see it sold off-ebay some three hours after I placed my bid. The golden rule? Ignore the ebay rules/contract about arranging to
buy and sell ‘off-site’ if you really want something – they’re not worth a cracker!
But now I’ve vented on that I must say I’m not all that upset. Location was a problem and freight would have been around $500 - $1500 for many
people (me at least).
Most twin cabs are really rusty, much worse than busses of the same vintage. My twin cab, Leo was the rustiest bus I have ever worked on (just kept
uncovering more and more) and I have invested 500 hours of metal work in him to fix him properly.
While I have the skills to do it myself, at modest shop rates that’s another $20k
up front before paint and body and mechanicals etc etc….
Looking at the pics of this (and reading between the lines on the description) I’d expect this twinny had similar issues to Leo, maybe not quite as
bad, but maybe so.
That said, they’re hard enough to find now to be worth doing. But do be aware of what you’re probably getting into. I hope whoever bought it has
the skills or cash to follow through and it just doesn’t end up sitting somewhere rotting away some more as so many of these things seem to do.

Hey Rob i was close to buying this one,,,,,, but did the sums Oh well next time
Ive said this before, This is why I would never spend more than $2000 buying a split, why spend $6000 plus for one that you are still going to do the
same repairs to as one that cost $2000.
Cheers
